I'm GAS'n for this, don't think I'll buy it though. I've run out of space and my plan to thin the herd didnt work. I had an ad on adverts but no response :(

    G&L L-2000 in sparkly blue :)

Oh yeah, I got GAS for a fretless last week but since I have no more space, I bought a fretless neck for one of my basses. Expect pictures in the next week!!! :D

Still don't like that finish on that Petrucci for some reason KH..:( Not sure why, just prefer the old model with the snazzy chameleon finishes, or some of those cool metallic reds & oranges.

Im ashamed to say im not really GASing over any guitars lately..but I have been gassing over one of these a little:
    G-System.jpg

Yeah, it doesnt quite compare to a sexy guitar or amp in the GAS stakes, but im not sure any effects units can anyway. It's shiny and aluminium, so that's at least something, plus it does all sorts of clever things. Me wants;)

Joebot - that bass reminds me of Dougal's jacket in the 'Eurovision' Father ted ;)

Yeah, the G-System is one cool pedal. I didn't think it was as GAS worthy as a slab of flamed maple of whatever, but it does loads of cool things. It has a bunch of loops & power supplies for your pedals, so you leave them all switched on and bring all them in & out of the chain as part of each patch, and it's got a rake of switching jacks for changing amp channels etc. Plus TC's usual brilliant chorus's and delays. Yep, GAS for me :D

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    Couldn't justify €1500 on a pedal though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,706 ✭✭✭Voodu Child

It's multi-voltage, works perfectly off 110 or 220-240V, and a US import wouldn't cost anywhere close to that thankfully. For a top end processor, midi pedal & midi switcher, you'd pay more separately.

At the moment I'm hankering for a P bass and my instinct is to stick with the mighty Bacchus so this is on the list

    DS00242534.jpg

and an old school P too, so this too

    z1.jpg

TBH, anything Bacchus hand made is rocking my boat in a bad way. I want to pick up a Bacchus guitar soon, so yeah add this to the list

    DS00259818.jpg

and this (and I don' even like Les Pauls :p )

    DS00261118.jpg

    Sad really :o

I started off planning to buy a Japanese Strat....

    st68ho.jpg

not this one, but it is sexy! Zebrawood!!!

Then I thought, why not get an American Strat over in Bostan...or even a Tele......

    T52T.JPG

Then I realised I want the real deal. A Gibson Les Paul. True Blues/Rock sound...

    f2b62bedf9129632537ae857674931d4.jpg

But then from the advice of boardsies Edwards were better quality for the price...

    elp90ltc_bk.jpg

    Now I actually want a Gretsch...:p

    Gretsch6118T.jpg

I do like these Vintage guys though...

One of these in Adlib in Carlow for ages. (not prestige though) Love it! Too expensive here and haven't found that finish/neck etc. anywhere online.

And the nicest strat ever award goes to:
    33784.JPG
Can't tell if the hardware is gold in that picture, don't think it is, but it is on the one I want!

And to top it all off a '59 Gibbo LP V.O.S.
    59LP-VOS-WC-96454-S02.jpg

That's a about it now apart from little things I want like an all valve amp of some description, a portostudio, and more stand alone effects to replace my GT-6.
Oh and the Dimarzio Super-Distortion and PAF, but I will be getting them so I don't have to GAS so much about them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,331 ✭✭✭Keyzer

Pardon my ignorance but WTF is GAS?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,172 ✭✭✭Don1

An awful affliction called gear acquisition syndrome that causes sufferers to spend vast amounts of cash on often unnecessary music equipment!

    From urbandictonary:

Guitar Acquisition Syndrome. Coined by Walter Becker of Steely Dan in a short article in an early 1990s Guitar Player magazine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

Oh yeah, forgot, I also want an Ibanez RG 1550. A 550 would do though if necessary.

No, only the demos, & clips that guys have made. Steve Vai used one in Vicar St at the Zappa gig, but i missed that one.

I know TC well enough to know the delays etc are top-notch. I doubt I could swing one either, but sure that's why it's in a GAS thread and not a 'Look at my new G-System thread'....:(

    From Ishibashi

    st5765l.jpg

Fender Japan '57.....can anyone confirm that \60480 is actually around €360-€365. If that's the case, then, plus tax and shipping, it comes out at under €600.

    elp85cdlh.jpg

Absolutely gorejuss, as my missus would say, and circa €700 taxed and delivered if my maths are correct. Silly, but fair.

I got onto Coda before and he said he wasn't sure, but he reckoned the model is an EX85.
Think I found somewhere that the EX85 has Tokai PAF MK2 pickups, must do a bit more digging on this.....
