Ive got a holiday booked for the end of October that I would like to get into good shape for. Im 6ft tall and weigh approx 15 stone.

I was always into fitness but have let myself go the last year or so.

Can you please recommend a diet and fitness plan for me to get toned and maybe ripped in 4 months. Would love to lose the belly and redefine the pecs I had when I was a fitness fanatic when in college.

There is a swimming pool beside where I work and I was going to get into that but I have read that swimming isnt great for weight loss.

I am not a member of a gym at present so I presume lots of jogging will be recommended by you guys

I look forward to your comments

Since your not in a gym I'd advise cardio combined with bodyweight exercises, and without knowing your BF% and current diet its really hard to advise you completely.

    Where are you?.

If you were to get involved in a sports activity what would interest you?.

Dont mean to be rude here but why do people always expect others to do all the work for them... There are too many - help me lose weight/get fit treads going for my liking (not that it troubles me to be honest)

It's not rocket science... Eat Healthy and Exercise More

    My two cents...

well I stated in a thread last night (here on this forum) that I seldom use this one (fitness). And if thats the attitude I'd rather stick with my regular's.

I think you'll find that attitude is in the minority around here dude.

OP, what kind of activities etc did you enjoy back when you were more into fitness? Anything you would like to get back into etc?

I also suggest you post your current average daily diet so we can have a look and see where the gaps are.

Op the first thing to get sorted out is your diet. Have a read through the nutritional stickies, theres loads of info there on how to get your diet sorted.

I've lost 1.5 stone in 2months,im 6'2 and used to weigh 14st and now am down to 12.5. That said i've sacrificed a LOT of muscle and stuff to become ripped, not really sure if it was worth it in the end. Sure i look great for the summer but ive lost a lot on my lifts, noticeably bench down from 90 (3x8) to 80 (3x8) equals ****, but then again now that im not allowed to play rugby ever again i dont relaly need the strength as ive turned my attention to tennis.

Short version, you should be well able to do it. I didnt really do much weights, maybe twice a week and played tennis every sinlge day. Just change your diet and you should be fine.

With you at the helm I'd have been very surprised. You run a nice board here. You run a nice forum here, I look through it on occassion, but rarely post.

OP best of luck with the training hope you achieve your goals.

Had a nasty compound fracture of tibia and fibula with them both coming throuhgt the skin 2 years ago and my physio advised against playing contact games. Obviously i totally disregarded this advice and started playin again in those kind shinguard paddy things (which do nothing) and then i felt a bit of a twinge/crack kinda thing a few weeks ago and went back to the physio and turns out the bone didnt heal properly and if i play again i will probably (bout 85% chance) of breaking my leg again (the last thing i want to do is spend another 4/5 months on crutches and stuff). So i decided that it wasnt worth it.

The only benefit is that im pretty much the next roger federer :D
