If you're thinking of Iraq, yes it's as inaccurate as portraying the NI conflict as a religious one. In some places it has a slightly more religious element (in the eyes of the murderers only, of course).

Anyway, I'm not sure I understand the point. In some places there are conflicts that have religious baggage, but democrats kill one another too, it doesn't make democracy bad.

I'm just saying that, although there can only be one true Islam, being Muslim does not tie you down to one pre-decided set of laws and beliefs that you must believe in, 'or else'.
