1.6 petrol, that was around three or four years ago. still see it driving around, so it would be well over the 200k by now

only old age here, no high miles:

So both just run in :D and hopefully good for at least double that.

I was in an old mercedes w123 taxi in morocco a few years back and got chatting the driver.
The car (diesel, probably a 300d) had close to 500k miles on the odometer.

He then told me the odometer had stopped working 3 or 4 years earlier:eek:

    I've been in a W202 C-class(94-00) which boasted 727,000 km 2 years ago, another W202 C220 CDI with a 'mere' 490,000 km, and a W124 E-class(85-94) OM601(200D) with 1,330,000 km and a W203(2001-2007) C220 CDI with a paltry 315,000 km, while on holidays 2 years ago. Not surprisingly, these were Taxis.

And what was the Merc in worst condition? Surprise, surprise the W203, the old Mercs felt like new, and the 727,000km C220 CDI took off like a scalded cat :D

    2000 Bora - 46,800 miles.

My old 1989 Passat 1.6 (no power steering  ) had 156k on it when I sold it for IR£200.

    136k miles = 219k km in my '96 735

Highest I've driven: 700k km in a Peugeot 205 diesel (non-turbo) for a security job when I was a student. Still drove quite well

Highest I've been in: several > 1 million km. All diesel merc taxis. All on holidays in countries much poorer than north western EU countries like Ireland :D
    157,000 miles on a 1998 MB W210

275,000 miles at least (guesstimate) on a 1979 Porsche 924. "At least" used because the odometer has been stopped a while. It has cheated though by having the engine re-conditioned at about 201,000.

Mileage worked out from old MOT's and service history as the clocks on these cars are useless. examples....

    1982 MOT at 93,000
    1990 MOT at 84,000
1997 receipt for clock changed and engine re-con - old clock reading 1016
2007 clock reads 75000 but was broken

Sure you`re only out of nappies, i`d say you done about 10 of them miles yourself. I`d say a 91 carina with that mileage must be fun to drive though, Not! :p

Dosent matter how much of the mileage you do yourself just what cars have high miles, only using it as my daily run around as i look for another car as i sold my trusty almera last week and i'm finding it hard to beat, but the carina is a great car it still drives tight and it keeps up with traffic not bother, had a little race with starbo, accelaration was terrible but got into her groove and lost ffs 90 ponys and a few escaped during the 90's. but i do adore these cars.

    2002 Toyota Avensis D4D: 100k miles
