And the scorching weather we're supposed to get is apparently just a rumour and we're actually going to get absolutely pissed on for the summer! I think this is quite a general thread, hence not posting it in Weather.

Its all the governments fault. And the Romanians too. Lets all leave this fcuked up country.

OT, Galway is the rainest place in the country

I'd love some rain, poor auld Ruu is sweating it out in central Illinois. Heading into 30Cees for the next few days and the old pasty skin won't hold up for long. :(

Darn straight. Haven't you noticed a direct correlation between the factors you mention and the increased rainfall?

I'm one soggy monkey... Had to walk home form work half an hour ago...

    Thunder and Lightening too....

I'm looking after my nephews rabbit this week so I'll have to chase it around the garden in the rain now to get it back in it's hutch...

(Oh and the Sky EPG seems to have been updated, so it may not have been the weathers fault)

I love thunder and lightning and every container in my back garden is full of water... including my shoes :(

It was a straight downpour though.

Which makes a change . It's usually side on, with wind whipping against your face, while waiting at a Bus Stop.

    We should all be grateful

What ARE you on about? Havent seen any rain today. There are regional forums as well as a weather forum on boards.ie

Apologies. I'm guilty of the RTE disease - assuming everyone's in Dublin (and I'm a Cork wan!) Again, my apologies. :o
July is supposed to be unreal though.

Unreal as in hot or wet?

Depends on your definition of good. Mine would be low twenties and sunny but with some cloud coverage, so that there isn't a mother****er of a blazing sun scorching you into the ground - like a couple of weeks ago. Now that, to me, was bad weather.

I left Limerick this evening at 5pm heading for Dublin. I got a 40 minute window of no rain in the midlands. It was muck for the rest of the time.

About 1 in 10 drivers were driving without any lights on either. Really dangerous.

Who where the worst offenders? Mr White Van Man.....

How about unreal as in sextants and tea pots will be falling from the sky during the month of July? That would be pretty unreal.

Thank god for €4 umbrellas in Pennies!

But yeah, the rain sucks. As strange as it sounds, I'd rather be wet than roasting though.

Not strange at all, perfectly logical.

Oh yeah, it better not be raining and muddy for the Picnic. But it better not be roasting hot either.

According to some Kiwi on Sean Moncreiffs show, we are not going to have any summer to speak of but as he was forcasting events up to 3 months ahead down to 3 day spells of weather I suspect he was guessing.

    And in the summer?

It'd be like a glass house, we'd melt

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    Speaking of long range forcasting
The Sea Surface Temperature profile in the Atlantic favours High pressure development to the South West of the British Isles and we expect the Azores High to be the major factor in bringing largely dry and settled conditions for the most part in June. Blocking over Europe and winds from a southerly quarter were the dominant factors in bringing exceptional warmth in July last year, and whilst this scenario will feature again this Summer, we would not expect the same sort of prolonged hot periods.

    Don't call us...

    Mike.

I want new sunglasses but with this weather? It's a waste of money, that I can spend while I waste my summer in the pub looking at the weather, listening to the weather and fcuking talking about the weather...

Likewise. I had to take my motorbike helmet out to the pitch too because it wouldnt fit in the lockers. It got soaked inside cos i had to hang it up so a fiercly struck ball wouldnt break it :(
