Was at home last nite and i havent seen a good movie in over a month on sky so i thought i would give domino a chance, im telling you sky movies has become as bad as TV3 for truly bad movies!!

I watched in for about 40 mins knowing that it was one of the worst pieces of film making that i had ever seen, the camera work was meant to be clever and the continued voiceover repeat was really irratable. People talk about freddy got fingered as been the worst film they have ever seen but come on people did you ever see his tv show, what hopes did you really have for the film. For me a cast of Mickey, Keira -- i was definitely hoping for a even bad movie would do but that was a load of ****e. The plot is a resemblence of a little rich girl who does go on to become a bounty hunter but the plot is ludicrious with the sick grand daughter and the heist plan.

Any opinions?? On Worst Film ever made????

I think Tony Scott is like marmite, you either love his work or hate it. He does like those super-quick camera edits, doesn't he..

I really like Empire Records. Sure I can see how other's wouldn't but worst film ever? Not even in the same galaxy. Worst one I've seen recently was The Butterfly Effect 2, after the plesent surprise of the first one, this was like a fork in the eye, only less entertaining.

I havent seen Domino, and I probably wont now.:)

I watched Aeon Flux over the weekend and I thought it was AWFUL. Charlize Theron does moody chick. Nah.....

I didn't think Aeon Flux was as bad as people made out. I really like the set and costume designs.

I was always a big fan of the old cartoon series though.

Catwoman would be the worst film I've ever seen... it's indescribably bad.... I saw Ultravoilet recently as it came free on Blueray with my PS3... it's pretty damn horrible too.

Showgirls, so bad it made looking at nude women boring, which is an absolute sin.

Devon's Ghost is one of the worse I've seen in a while, ex Power Ranger actors in it, suppose that says it all.. as well as there actually being no ghost

I agree with monkeyfudge, Aeon Flux was better than people gave it credit for, although I too enjoyed the old cartoon series, so maybe you have to like that first.

As for Domino, it's well up there in the all-time worst list and I'm ashamed to admit that I wasted money on it by renting it. The DVD kept jumping thoughout and froze completely with about 5 minutes to go, so I didn't see the end. The guy in the shop asked if I wanted a new copy of it, but I told him that the freezing probably improved the film. His response was "Yeah, you're better off not bothering, it's truly awful sh1te, isn't it?". Wish I'd asked him before I rented.

    What about 'Gigli'?

J-Lo sums up the film perfectly: "It's turkey time! Gobble gobble"

    Oh dear :o

get out! i loved little nicky!

as for domino, don't think it's the worst. it could have been great (good script, actors). it was directed and edited awfully... hence it's downfall.

Little Nicky was class then again I love Adam Sandlers work (Happy Gilmore Billy Madison comic genius!!!!). Let me see Batman and Robin Joel put the final nail in the coffin. The English Patient (boring crap) are 2 that spring to mind

IS it not a true story? Thought I read somewhere that it was.
As for whoever suggested Empire Records for worst movie. Get out, dont even stop to get your coat.

Dude Where's my car and more recently Shadowboxer.

I work in xtra-vision and when people come up with the cover for shadowboxer I actually warn them not to get it! Such a terrible terrible movie.

As for Sky Movies,I don't think they have been very good in a while, but since they did this big change,Sky premiere, sky family etc, it has become so much worse,if that is possible. Never anything decent on,so much so that I am actually having it cut off, save some money because I just don't watch anything on them anymore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

No, I liked it. Although I have a taste for Keira. The plot is based on a true story.

    Freddie got fingered was entertaining...

and xtra-vision bought an exclusivity deal on it, then sent 75 copies to their bigger stores.

    go martin higgins, eh?

God yeah couldnt agree more, the whole splitting them up by genre thing is terrible! More often then not theres crap on all of them. Almost stopped watching them as well, aside from the odd Premier one. Almost a shock when something decent is on Action or Comedy.

On Domino, I agree - awful. Just really bugged me, thought Kiera's character was a bit of a spa..

My worst of recent years has to be Revolver though. The audacity of the man to advertise it as one thing and then show us something completely different. Ass. Ass i say!

(Dis)Honourable mention to Oceans 12 - about a million times more convoluted then it needed to be, with the most glaring pointless plotholes where you look at their ridiculously overcomplicated solution to a problem and think "why didn't they just do..."

NO NO NO, this is not a true story the character domino existed and how she was a catwalk model turned bounty hunter but CMON u think the plot is plausible in a 7 year olds made up story, reality tv crew following them around and the first ladies cmon please!!! How does someone read this script and go lets throw 15 million at it -- baffling

Also worth mentioning Electra, Hannibal, Batman & Robin, Shaft, Popeye, Speed 2 and i know some people like this but Van hesling but it is a shocker!!!!

God I had to sit through Shadowboxer recently. Absolutely atrocious. I don't know what they were thinking. They tried to make it arty and pretentious and completely failed. The story being a complete stink and some terrible performances didn't help. Soundtrack was piss poor as well.

I know,we got at least 75 copies, they hardly rented. THey have done it before, several times. I remember some movie called Rancid, they got it as an exclusive, about 70 copies. Within two weeks we had to transfer about 50 previously viewed, and within another week it went from a 5.25 new release to 2.50 back catalogue. I think its for sale previously viewed for 1.99 at the moment and still not selling!

and qwert, prepare to be shot for that last comment! :p

Anyone ever seen Irelands very own martial arts film Fatal Deviation. Definatly the wrost film ever made but also worth seeing as it is so bad its funny. The bad guy is Mikey from Boyzone and one of the "big action sequences" arises out of 2 lads messing about in a supermarket.

Domino was fairly sh1te alright. Paint by numbers Tony Scott. It worked for Man on Fire though.

Still havne't made up my mind on the new Sky layout. It's fairly sh1te but I did get to watch Scent of a Woman yesterday morning :D

While most of the films you mentioned are very bad... I have seen some terrible things. There is a movie called Raptor which is made up of stock footage from the three Carnosaur movies (all of which were crap) and some really dodgy pornos.
They show it on Zone Horror often enough, if you feel like punishing yourself.

For Love of the Game is the worst film I've ever seen. It's a baseball film without an baseball coupled with a love-story thats even worse than the one in the Star Wars prequels.

    What about "The transporter 2".
I taught jimmy bond was jammy. This guy jumps off a bridge lands on a the back of a jet ski flips the cute woman thats on it over his head, (so she's now on the back holding on to him), co insidently the bad guy he was chasing is getting away on a bus thats travelling on a road parallel to a river.
So he chases a bus on a jet ski  Wait for it...........
He then rams the bank of the river flying into the air in slooooooow motion and lands on the road skidding up directly behind the bus. then he stands up on the jet ski and jumps onto the bus, and punches the bad guy in the face

At this point i stood up and walked out of the cinema.

I wonder what tripe the director Louis Leterrier can produce now he's directing "The Incredible Hulk".
Lord bless us and save us

Ah in fairness, that's the type of film that it was trying to be, over the top, ridiculous fun. It did exactly what it said on the tin.

The worst film I ever saw, I saw because I was told it'd be the worst film I ever saw. Ninja Hunter actually made my brain hurt. It's a bizarre tale about ninjas and gangster and a little boy who says "Mom" over a hundred times in a row (I'm not joking!).

Apparently what happened was some guys in Thailand decided to make martial arts movies and they shot a load of gangster related scenes. They then got some Americans dressed them up as ninjas (complete with a bandanna with "Ninja" written on it) and shot another batch of scenes. They then paid the actors for doing 1 film and spliced the footage into about 10 movies, none of which had any continuity or even a hint of common sense. They're almost hypnotic.

I watched this last night because I thought it might be a bit of fun. It was awful with some of the worst SFX I have ever seen. If this movie was made 20 years ago it would still look awful. They didn't even morph

Oh come off it! Crank was one of the most enjoyable films I've ever seen, one of the best films of last year, and probably the best cheesy action movie since Demolition Man.

Tell me you are joking! It was so bad! It had a good premise for a no-brainer action flick which could have been fun but ended up being a joke. I turned if off when he had sex with his girlfriend in the middle of a packed square. Complete rubbish. And I am not someone who expects every movie it be an oscar movie,I do like watching movies that are a laugh, but this was jsut cringe worthy.
