Check out http://www.fastlanestudio.net, have a listen to the samples and see what you think. The last band in was Fritz Kula which was just last week. We spent 3 days recording 4 tracks and another full day mixing and mastering. Have to say I was really happy with the result.

I've done a fair bit of different recording work covering a wide variety of styles for demos and releases. As a musician as well as an engineer I try and take a musical approach to recording and really love to work with musicians on production, different instruments, singing and arrangements to get the most out from their songs and sound. No hit records as yet, but you just watch this space!

I used to have a small commercial studio but now it's my own home set up. Smaller set up but then not as expensive! If you want Windmill lane I'm not your man but if you want a small intimate set up then bob's your uncle and Fanny's yer aunt.

Hi all,

about 6 months ago, I purchased the flagship electronic drum kit on the market. The Roland V-Drum TD-20.

I have had great success in the studio with this kit.... and live, but not as much (i hate taking it out of my home!)

anyway, I thought that I'd give others a chance to hire the use of this kit off me, for recording purposes. When wanting to record a rough demo etc., I know how hard it is to get a half decent drum sound with a limited budget..this is part of the reason why I got them in the first place.

I am also a session drummer with over 16 years experience in recording and touring, so I can play them too on your tracks if you require that.

There are 50 preset kits...ranging from normal acoustic sounding kits, to Metal to Jazz to Funk, Pop and slick dance kits too...so you would have plenty of options available. I can program the kit's brain, so we can tweak any particular sound to your liking.
There is the option to record in midi or audio...obviously midi is completely edit-able after the tracks are down...Usually I record in midi, and maybe quantize if necessary, depending on the track, and then fire through to audio, but everyone has their own technique.

I now work a Pro Audio Dealer based in Dublin called Audio Warehouse where we specialize in High End Audio. SSL,Neve,Brauner,Manley,Apogee, DigiDesign etc etc.

I still keep my hands on the faders and have recently mixed some Blizzards tracks and am mid mixing an album for Glen Baker, son of Don. I work from The Loft Studio in Clara, Offaly.

I've quite a bit of experience now and have access to a great network of contacts both Producer/Engineers and Equipment Manufacturers.
If I can't answer your questions I know someone who can!

I've noticed on this Board there are a lot of references to German dealers. Now-a-days it's rare we have any issues with matching or often beating a price - plus we're in a position to loan you gear beforehand to ensure you make the right decision.

Similarly if any of our customers do have any problems we're here to sort them , with loan units or whatever's needed.

Our attitude is you can't make great recording without great gear. We have a network of repeat customers who also believe that.

Been here a while now so here goes.
I have been running Trackmix Studio in Blanchardstown since 1995.
Started off with a tascam 24 track tape machine and a soundtracs console.
Gear has changed many times over the years and still gets upgraded with alarming regularity!
Currently running a quad 2.6 Mac Pro with Logic Pro 8 and lots of tasty plugins. I am (recently) an apple certified trainer for logic.
In the studio there is a nice wooden floor live room, spacious control room with natural daylight which comfortably seats 10 people and a chill out room (in progress) with tv and play station.
I use a yamaha 01v96 console as the centre of the studio and a mackie control for "real" faders and transport for logic.
All the "usual suspects" mics are there from shure to neumann. I have a digidesign HD 8 channel pre and a focusrite isa220 channel strip plus the 10 pres on the 01v96.
I can comfortably record up to 26 simultaneous tracks into an RME digiface.
I have full pro backline which is provided free of extra charge including a Sonor S Class maple kit with a full set of Zildjian A Customs, Hughes and Kettner Triamp mk2 stack, ENGL Powerball stack, Warwick tubepath 5 8x10 bass stack, Gibson LP standard and ES137, US strat, tele and P Bass, Rickenbacker 620, PRS custom 24, Yamaha compass north acoustic and a Yamaha clavinova (used as a midi controller).
I will only record guitar bands. No dance music and no singer songwriters etc. I will only record a band I don't know if I hear and meet them first and I know I can work with them. Having these conditions keeps me sane!
I used to have a studio website but found it to be a waste of time so now I use www.myspace.com/trackmixstudio instead. There is always a good selection of recent productions there.
The studio is also available to freelance engineers. Logic or PT is available.
