This is the only type of bread I eat these days...Would 4 pieces of it daily be normal or is it a bit too much? Any ideas for varying it up a little?

    Thanks.

I see from people's diets on other threads that pitta or wholegrain brown is the only bread most people seem to eat.

I'm interested in knowing what the 'bread rules' are for people who work out.

White bread is out, I guess panini too but how much pitta or wholegrain brown is too much?

Assuming fillings are nutritious each time, are bagels, wraps, tortillas, naan all out of bounds? I ask because if trying to eat 5/6 times per day, it's most convenient to bung some tuna or chicken into or onto some of the above and munch away.

I'm just wary of bread-type products in general but maybe I'm being over zealous. Particularly interested in pitta like the first poster...

Make sure the pitta bread your eating is wholegrain. With regards the others not too sure, know bagels aren't great because there processed. The whole idea with the bread is to try keep your carbs down.

4 a day in my opinion is loads. They're about 200kcals each so that's 800 cals a day on bread alone, that could be from half to one third of your daily calorie intake, from bread alone. I wouldn't eat that much personally. One a day I'd say.

Pitta bread is the same as normal bread so why eat it if you dont eat BREAD?

I used to get bogged down on calorie intake etc. Went mad after about 3 months of it to be honest. I admit it was good for that time to get a rough idea as to what I actually needed. On the bog quite a bit during the day a sign that you're taking too much?

wholemeal pitta is wholemeal bread-calorie for calorie its not much different-therefore you might aswell eat wholemeal bread.
White is less healthy-fact but wholemeal versions have the same calories so although its healthier its still adding to your overall calorie intake the same-if trying to lose weight, dont eat bread in my opinion-especially if your trying to figure out why your not losing weight-sandwiches tend to be the ultimate fast food. on the other hand if your building i would reccommend the wholemeal breads as they have loads of calories that you need.
