The preliminary round and round 1 are now finally done.

Norwich Fan Rob is now the proud owner of a bottle of Captain Morgans for knocking out defending champ rag2gar (PM me your address for shipping). The other bountied player, rounders123, is still alive with a bounty of a copy of SuperSystem on his head.

The draw for the second round has just taken place under strict laboratory conditions in my back garden. The draw was witnessed by both a dog and a baby so we can have no complaints about impartiality...

I think I missed this when it was being organised, so I'm somewhat ignorant to the details...

Is it just HU on play money tables with just a title at stake? Or is there any money involved?

HU for play money, real money, car keys, wifes, for whatever the two particpants agree to basically . Afaik the final prize is mainly just about the title, all good clean fun anyway

Hi,

I thought I had posted the result of my Round 1 matchup with aceofspades on Friday. After many attempts to arrange a game we finally conceded defeat on Friday and decided I should take the walkover.

As I said I thought I had posted the result here. Obviously something went wrong in the posting. I realise I'm too late now but I just wanted to say that we had made numerous attempts to play the game and that I had thought I'd posted the result (admittedly I didn't check to make sure it got posted).

I'm posting this because I didn't want the organisers to think that we just didn't care and that we let it slide. I know a lot of work goes into something like this and that sometimes people's apathy can be a pain. That wasn't the case here.

Best of luck in the rest of the competition.

Match 1 Luckylucky 2 Cardshark202 1. We ended up playing Omaha on full-tilt. The first game in particular swung first one way then the other, I just about won it in the end. The 2nd was over in one hand when in a raised and re-raised pot my nut flush draw plus AA(and third A ) ran in to two pair and straight draw on flop, the two pair held up. The 3rd game was going the way of the 1st, then fortunately for me I hit some flops and managed to take it when my AA suited held up by rivering nut flush. Enjoyable game that really could have gone either way.
