You have a TT ultra 120 extreme aswell don't you? Is there really anything out there that is better? I would have though that big coolermaster one which can hold 2 x 120mm would have been good. But the results speak for them selfs.

No, I have an Artic Cooler Freezer7 Pro.

For my build and my mates, because it's very awkward for us both to get stuff delivered to work and we don't drive, we ordered exclusively off komplett and got the stuff delivered to the gaff.

I took a very well deserved week off work to sit on my ass and build my pc:D.

Komplett had nothing good in stock cpu cooler wise, so as a stop gap I picked up the Artic in peats for €25.

It's meant to be a good cooler and it is, but it does seem to be the bottle neck to a cool CPU.

I will hit 60 degrees+ at load. The air flow from the case is actually quite cool and the Artic heatsink is cool to touch under load, but the CPU still hits the 60s.

So I am thinking of ordering a thermaltake 120 extreme and a few 120mm fans.

(should be a lot easier getting 1 small box sent to work and getting pass the wagon of a receptionist than 3 very big boxes)

Ah yeah. i know that problem. I cant have anything delivered to work, as they open and check all mail/parcels. So far i would have to reccomend the ys-tech fan. It pushed 125cfm of air, but it remarkably quiet. But it is very very heavy for a fan, the s-flex 1600rpm is good too. The noctua is absolutly useless. And the xilence is very very quiet and moves almost the same air as the sflex. And the akasa amber just isnt up to the job for a hsf fan on a heavily overclocked cpu.

lol all camera fones suck i think even the n95 its just a fuzzy kinda pic.

also is it me or is there no heatspreader on ur giels ?must get very hot.

also 1 set of my ram craps out at around 900 could this be due to heat since it gets very hot.
What voltage?, stick a fan over them when benching to be on the safe side but D9's always get pretty toasty. Anti he speaks the truth, camera phones suck as cameras. I'm getting a Fuji S6500FD tomorrow, in preperation for the new case mod. Think V2000 in black sprinkled with lots of UV Blue acrylic and dual water loops inside :evil laugh:. I'll log it here as well as a few other forums. It would go in the "overclocking logs" section, yes? Somebody better start mentioning 3DMark again or the mods will be after us :p .

I was actually going to bang in an order today for 4 of the noctua fans, mostly based on reading the reviews.

Can i ask what the cons are for the noctua fans?

Out of the 4 what would you reccomend for the quietest case fans with decent airflow?

Well a n95 is 5mp, so its gonna be a step up from my usual pics with a w810i which is 2mp.

@nibble Yep, thats where the build/overclocking names are meant to go. I'll see about getting it renamed soon.

@srdb20 , The noctuas are very quiet. And for case fans would be ideal. But for a hsf fan they are useless. I would reccomend the Sctyle s-flex 1600rpm fan. Its quiet and moves a nice ammount of air. Also the noctua is a mouldy looking fan. White and brown... Eurggggh, how retro. The xilence fans are good as case fans too, but dont seem as effective as a hsf fan. If you dont mind a bit of noise get the 125cfm ys-tech fans. Just put them at 7 or 5v for pure silence. And they will still shift more air then any of the other fans.

Only 399 is all it was. Its was on upgrade.

And tbh i dont really want a camera, i have no interest in photography at all. Would be a waste of money.

And your more then welcome srdb20 :)

The N95 is brilliant, best thing I can remember buying. Watch movies, ebooks on the train, wifi, network it with your PC using Symsmb 2.0, download torrents using Symtorrent, upload pictures automatically to Flickr, or your blog, games............list goes on and on.

PS Anti I have a pretty simiar RIG to yours...see sig and I maxed out at 12310 3D Marks and a corrupted Vista Install ;-) Haven't benched since the re-install. The corrupted install was down to some overagressive superpi 1M runs at 3.8Ghz and nearly 1.6V

    E6600 @ 3.2, Abit fatality m-atx mobo ( lol ), 2 gb ram, raptor x hdd, 8800 gtx @ stock speeds.

LOL maybe this link will work ffs:) This time CPU at 3.66ghz. Memory at 933mhz @ 4-4-4-12 latency. 8800 ultra @ 710 core 1230memory, ran surprisingly cool TBH. Although I had case open and extra 120mm fans pointing at card coz I was afraid of burning it out. Pretty sure this link works at last!

    you dont believe me?

well ive brought my cpu back down to stock speeds now because i really dont need it overclocked tbh and i just formatted windows so i dont have 3d mark anymore.

so if i get time to overclock it and install 3dmark i will link you.

edit: lol, it was 11.5k i got, not 12.5k XD

    heres a link to the intel benchmarking competition @ i31 : http://forums.multiplay.co.uk/showthread.php?t=52184

i can get my cpu stable @ 3.4 and if i overclock the gpu to ultra speeds i reckon itll hit 12.5/13k.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 298 ✭✭CSSource God

Sorry Kamikazi, but you wont get near 13000. Even if you do overclock u will only get a few hundred more outa ur score TBH. to break 13k u will need ur cpu at 3.6ghz and card above Ultra clock speeds in my opinion:)

8800GTS is only OC'd to 600/850 right now. I think my new CPU makes a bit of a difference though:D I will be taking it much further so I am expecting to breach 11k soon!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,227 ✭✭✭awhir

Yeah I will OC it higher, but at the moment I am focusing more time on OCing the CPU.
