*massive Season Finale Spoilers* ***please God Do Not Click This Link By Accident*

The story of Adam & Eve? couldnt resist plucking that apple could they. well i'm an even bigger jerk and just spoiled the finale for myself. If the source turns out to be true,.... i dont even know where to begin.

    My head is totally spinning.

Ok im gonna ignore 90% of the spoilers i read and just spoil THE MAIN thing but please God, honestly for the love of God?Allah/Buddha dont give into temptation easily.

I feel a little irresponsible even putting this thread up so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not spoil yourself easily, put some thought into this. There is a long gap between Finale and next season and patience in this instance will be rewarded. this is definitely something i advise against.

ALSO THIS COULD BE AN ELABORATE FOILER but by all accounts the following is the real deal:

Season Finale: Flashback: Jack in a desperate state,
    battling alcoholism, depression, suicidal tendencies
desperately trying to get through to someone on the phone. When he finally goes to meet that person, it's
Kate. And it's not a flashback. It's a FLASH-FORWARD. Showing that at least Jack&Kate eventually make it off the island. Who else ? "we have to go back" jack says.

As for anybody that does spoil themselves, anything to say?

    yeah it's pretty massive

and the sad thing is that the person who posted this has given what appears to be incredibly accurate infomation outlining the whole last 2 episdoes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 62 ✭✭Spiritus Mundi#

It would be an incredible FOILER if it turns out to be false but i believe the information is far too detailed, intricate and complete for it to be false. It does however provide something to talk about for the next 8 months or so!!

Im gutted i read the spoiler and felt i HAD to share it with someone, its like when you're 7 and santa comes and you get a new toy, you have to tell someone, anyone!! problem is once this is out it will spread like wildfire.

Any back up for this spoiler? link to site? not sure if i believe it myself

http://spoilerslost.blogspot.com/ BE WARNED it spoils the finale and 3x21 in complete detail, be careful with it. the source is way too detailed to have just plucked it out of thin air. It ties in with all cryptic clues given to us already.

Oh just read it there, have to say does sound legit to me!

Interesting. I figured something like that would happen after we saw that The Others could leave the Island

I have to admit that DarkUFO hasn't been wrong about much else and this does seem to be too good to be a foiler. I guess we'll know for sure when we see episode 21 this week. If the spoilers for that are true, I'm confident that the ones for the finale would be too.

if this spolier is true it will be a huge case of WTF and will drive me crazy wating for next season

Aye the idea of a Flash-Forward instead of a Flash-Back is crazy and will turn my already cabbaged brain into a complete mess.

Oh man that's a great twist if it's legit. Some the rest of the synopsis doesn't sound right to me but the final reveal does fit with we've been hearing. I actually suggested back on the Fuselage a while ago that future seasons could take the form of
reverse-flashbacks, from the post-rescue real world to the island. But this looks like a flash forward.
I was still close though :)
    Flash forwards
make a certain amount of sense, especially now that the end has been announced, combined with the fact that certain backstories seem to have dried up. There would still be
flashbacks of course but probably only for relatively new characters, like Ben and Juliet.

    well the
flashforward idea has been around for a while but in the context time warps, this puts a new spin on it i've got to say that whole thing sounds very plausible to me and exactly what the writers like to do, ask more question without answering too many outstanding ones

Doesnt spoil anything really for me .

Doesnt spoil anything really for me .

i'm a hardcore LOST fanatic , seen every episode (most a few times). I have to disagree with the above. Stongly.

1 of the initial ideas that had me hooked on the show long before a lot of the mythology kicked in was the basic humanity of it - will they be rescued? how many will make it off the island alive? Speaking of "Alive", the film of the same name evoked similar feelings (rugby team crashed in a mountain think in Peru), you're drawn into their story and the possibility of them beating the odds and making it out alive.

Since then a lot of other mythology aspects have kicked in to sort of take a lot of the wonder out of the island - th fact that people can come and go, that outside influences are evident and visible. Still, the fact that
2 major characters are shown to have made it home at some point
is startling. Immediately raises the 'who else made it?' and also the key SPOILER of the episode for me is
the fact that jack is so depressed and determined to go back
    .

** continuing to use spoiler tags, prob not necessary but dont want the casual reader to flick down and see something they dont want to

I agree with Spiritus Mundi. It's a good twist but even if it isn't, it's a great concept which has the potential to greatly expand the mythology of the show. I still have my doubts about whether it's true or not but it makes sense that there has to be some change in the flashback structure. Several characters (Locke, Sawyer) have had their long standing back-stories resolved this season; while those of several others (Sayid, Kate, Jack) have no where else to go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,956 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

Its a bit similar to the twist at the end of season 2 of Battlestar Galactica which was prob the best cliff hanger ever.
The show has really picked up in the last few episodes so the next few should be very good.

There's been major uproar over this at DarkUFO and TheTailsection. And the AICN article and talkback that started it all has vanished.

It's starting to look like this is legit, folks. There's a new sneak peak on the official abc site that features a scene between Jack, Sayid, Juliet and Rousseau. It confirms several parts of the Greatest Hits synopsis, the very bits I thought were dodgy: the name of the underwater station, Ben jamming communication, it's all true.

I'll post a youtube version when it becomes available.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

At this stage it all seems very believable, since we're so close to the finally that it's hard to keep what happens under wraps. The happenings of the finale leaked last year aswell and fans were skeptical, thinking it was red herrings, but this is most likely what will happen.

Im not trying to be really picky but this is actualy an impossible outcome....

    Because
the second kate is rescued, she goes back in a cell. She killed her father, was faced with insurance fraud and drugged a cop. There isnt any "ah sure, you spent 80 days on an island, thats punishment enough"

You're jumping WAY too far ahead, lets wait and see what happens. Maybe she still is a fugitive. Maybe her mother after finding out her daughter survived backed down and came to her defense, got her acquitted. I'm sure (if this is true) it'll all be explained in time.

In another update to this whole finale-has-been-spoiled-saga:
Ausiello is now telling people to avoid the spoilers which is only adding more legitimacy to them. In the meantime many hysterical fans have started attacking abc and the writers for not being more secretive  I mean what a bunch of morons, they read spoilers but when they get spoiled they start complaining. Others are just in denial, insisting this all some elaborate conspiracy involving alternate endings to lead the fans astray. And as usual there are a few threatening to "give up" on the show because they don't like the twist.

Just another day in the Lost fan community :D

Haha you would swear LOST is life or death for some people. Yes I am a LOST addict and love the show but come on, there are limits to how obsessed one can be. People attacking abc and the writers? LOL get a life. No one has forced anyone to read spoilers so they have some cheek to come out and threaten to stop watching the show because they don’t like the plot. If you read a spoiler then it is your tough luck if you like/agree with it or not.

    One word will suffice: TWATS

Okay so the outcry over this is continuing, Moriarty at AICN is refusing to post a Lost talkback until everything "cools" down. In the meantime DocArtz from The Tailsection has posted a summary of what happened on his myspace page. It seems the finale spoilers are mostly correct but major details have been left out and some were inaccurately described. Here's what he said:
Exciting week, huh folks? Concerning the spoilers released by LOSTFan108, there has been a lot of discussion as to whether or not the synopsis is legit, or is an elaborate misdirection. There is a lot you don't know about the situation, so in the words of my idol, Dr. Marvin Candle, "First, a little history."

The spoilers originated on www.aintitcoolnews.com in a post by TV correspondent Hercules. His post concerned information given to him by a confidential informant and listed a number of extremely vague bullet points.

During the course of that day, a DIFFERENT person posted more concise information that expanded on Hercules bullets and revealed the 'game changer' of the episode.

In between these events I emailed Hercules at Aint-it-cool-news. The reason for the email was to share with him some litmus information that myself and DarkUFO have kept off the record for the purpose of testing the validity of any spoilers which may arise concerning the finale. As you can guess, we are deluged with 'tips' from unproven sources.

After the comments were posted, and subsequently posted at other LOST sites, I posted my call for calm and discretion, and at the same time expressed my opinion on giving spoilers on the magnitude of 'the game changer' without tempering the information to make it less conclusive, and more seductive.

At this point, I was emailed by someone claiming to be the person who provided the information to AICN. I challenged him to prove he was who he claimed to be, and his response included information not released on AICN, or anywhere else for that matters, concerning "Greatest Hits." In particular, the first five lines of dialog. I told him that once his info was confirmed I would pass along his concerns.

His claim is that he is in possession of the screenplays for the final two episodes of LOST. They are not watermarked. He claims he did not provide AICN with specific information, but did give a brief overview of the episodes, and did tell AICN what the game changer was with the understanding that none of the information would be published.

He claims that the subsequent synopsis posted in the AICN comments system and later at DarkUFO's site, was at best an abbreviated version of the information he gave, and that there are several specific details regarding key scenes that he cannot imagine someone with specific knowledge who was spoiling the episode on that level would leave out. He also indicated there are some inconsistencies which were 'laughable' in comparison to how things actually happen.

The bottom line is, he feels the information was given by someone who only had access to the tidbits he gave AICN. In short, he thinks AICN themselves posted the synopsis in their own comments system to get more traction out of their post traffic wise.

Unfortunately, for those of you who hope and pray the spoilers are incorrect, they are, in their own crude way, 100% correct. However, they do not represent the finished product in any complete way. There is still much to be derived from watching, and watching very very closely. In particular, there is information given in the final moments of the show which were completely absent from the game changer description, and will drive LOST fans absolutely crazy.

    aaaaaaawwwwwwwww dick

why did i read. just cant help myself...
    as regards kate,
i presume, there will be no reason for kate and jack to be rescued legitimately enough for her to need to go to jail, and no one else be rescued. you can say, theyre probably all dead or something, but in that case, i cant see why jack would want to go back so badly.
odds are, they found a way off the island and snuck back into existence without creating a ruckus. neither of them have anyone they'd particularly want to be going back to.

    Ok you simply put

Always the sceptic logik ;) ! Of course it's always a possibility. You seem overly confident that it is. Is there something you're not telling us. DarkUFO's spoilers have been legit so far, why shouldn't we believe it's right this time?

I think it's been fairly safely confirmed by now that these spoilers are legit, crudely described but legit nevertheless. I seriously doubt the producers ever create foilers to put us off the trail, especially when there's no shortage of basement-dwellers making up crap about nanobots and passing it off as true. Anyway I for one think the flash-forward concept is brilliant.

I love the idea of Flash forward also, but the old saying has to be respected :). Somethings are too good to be true. I don't know if i can fully believe everything we read from DarkUFO.
