Ok, starting to get a little bit worried now given that I start tomorrow week - where the hell has the year gone?

I've also been struggling a bit of late to get that much done, compared to the last few weeks. Right now I'm doing a bit on Architecture for one of my courses, but I'm enjoying it a bit too much which means I'm putting too much time into it :o

I finish on the 11th. How's everyone feeling?

/me slaps those who are without exams o'er the next few weeks.

Good luck to all and may your crops flouruish on land most fertile. Now that the niceities are out of the way, may I be the first to laugh at all your misfortunes! First time since 1998 that I haven't had exams of some sort or other to do in the summer and I'm laughing my hairy little man rocks off! Seriously though, good luck all :D

blah, blah, blah. Screw you, postgrads, at least I get a summer holiday and don't have to spend beautiful sunny days in some bloody lab.

    Exams in a week...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,389 ✭✭✭cianclarke

Yesterday, to procrastinate, I randomly decided driving out of the airport "f*ckit, lets go to Belfast". And I did.
    That's bad...

Hmm, all expenses paid conferences, salary, lack of timetable etc etc... We ain't stuck here for all of the summer either. People take long holidays. I'm pretty happy with sacrificing a couple of months for that:D !

I think we should start a smug postgrad thread. Or maybe not, then the undergrads will just ignore it. By posting in random places we can act smugger.

No, but meeting me in person is a sure enough cure for anyone with 'we love b.ie syndrom'.

Only kidding! I'm great, me. Former male model 'n all.

Buy, yes, exams suck donkey's, but I didn't have to them last year so I guess I shouldn't be complaining.

anybody know what the difference between the Luce Hall and Sports Hall is on the exam timetables? is it the new hall?

No, according the sheet that was underneath my timetable they are both in Luce Hall, but one is the first floor hall and the other is the ground floor place. Can't remember which one is which.

If there wasn't an additional sheet beside your exam timetable, wander into the Museum building and check them out there.

in luce the ground floor was the weights area and the machines and the 1st floor was the basketball court so I'd guess

    sports hall - 1st floor
    luce - ground

Yeah. Still idiotic on the part of the Exam Hall.

I believe you are correct. I hated having exams in the sports hall, the smell of stale sweat is not something you need during your finals.

the lights were always very dodgy as well. Still better than the cattle shed that is the RDS?

With no coffee available unless you pegged it to the spar shop a fair bit up the road.. I fell asleep during my first ever exam in there!

You know my aversion to exercise.

True, but they're just about ok - I went around last year with a device checking the light intensity, as well as a thermometer checking the temperature of exam locations :)

Indeed. Woohoo for no exams there this year.

I'm seriously tempted to bring a cloak into an exam with me this year, purely for the fact that I always get cold in exams from the middle - end of them, and that while coats aren't allowed they can't tell you to take a cloak off.

Does he ask questions on the computer section of that course?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 96 ✭✭balzarywex

question 1 is alway: explain how modern 32 bit computer would store integers x,y,z; conversions between binary, octal and hexadecimal; writing a fraction in binary, giving the mantissa and exponent. maybe limitations on range of numbers computers can store.

then question 2 is just mathematica commands and theres other bits of mathematica commands mixed in with the calculus parts as well.
