Shin Splints?

Anyone have any info on shin splints?

Shins have been painful for about the last 2/3 weeks. Haven't been able to run, play football without serious pain.
Is it something that I should see my physio about or will it go away? I have 1/2 stretches that are supposed to be good, but that all I know.

    Cheers.

You can get insoles for your shoes to help support your arc. I got these a while ago and they do help, although I can still wreck my shins if I go belting off some place without any warm-up, even if it's just a fast walk to the shops.

Yip, got them in a pharmacist, cost about 40 euros. Working well, but as said some times they will not go away.

Allegedly u can get treatment for them

Shin splints are not the worst of my worries. I wear insoles, been wearing them for years. Anyway one week (3wks ago) i decided to start running again. Last time i ran before then was about over a 1 year ago. I always run on the grass, marley park i love u! however the following week (2 wks ago) my knees, osj, my knees were killing me, i couldn't walk let alone run, and going up and down stairs was painful also. I'm only 26, just call me grandpa!

Kattyboy25, have you renewed your insoles in the last three years? Insoles are like shoes thay can lose some of their shape over time. Even when you get new insoles you still need to break them in just like a new pair of shoes.

One Cold Hand, Hunnymonsters articles are perfect but you should get the shins professionally checked out. They can tell you what exercises are applicable for you depending on how bad they are.. There is no use jumping inat too high of level with the exercises and making yourself worse.
