how long do you spend in the shower?

this was inspired by the other showering thread. I think it was done before, if it was it was a long time ago, so anyway. How long do you spend in the shower? is it an in and out job or do you like to stay under the relaxing blast for a while? I personally take a good 10 minutes in the shower, 15 if I'm washing my hair. I reasoned this with my parents by saying I need it to wake me up in the morning, but in reality it probably made me more drowsy :o

    so how about you?

Usually 5-10 mins, would be longer on occasion but generally I'm in a rush so it's a quick one

About 7 minutes, I can listen to 2 whole songs on the stereo while shaving, showering and drying.

    Up to half an hour!

    5-10 minutes at the max

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,771 ✭✭✭✭Mr. CooL ICE

5 mins max, assuming it's the time between closing the shower door and opening it to get out.

Turn on nozzle, wet my body, turn off nozzle. Apply shampoo to head (even though I'm a blade 1), armpits, groin and arse. Followed by a rinse, and I'm outta there.

I've never timed it, but I'd say 10-15 minutes on average.

Add another 10-15 minutes if I need a shave.

If Pigheads showering alone: 15 minutes + 18 Minutes for Extras
If Pighead has company: 15 minutes + 40 seconds for Extras.

Extras being a side order of wedges I presume. this begs the question as to what the main course is tho...

Even Pighead needs his own space and time sometimes. Also if the chicks are ugly they get booted out first thing in the morning. They don't deserve to share my water.

~5mins to wash and then and extra 1-2 mins of cold water to wake me up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 302 ✭✭Cheese Princess

If my shower only involves body washing I can be done in 3 minutes flat.
For the hair washing and conditioning, shaving, exfoliating etc....can take about 20 minutes.
My biggest delay is getting the temperature right....crappy taps

Usually about 15 mins but most days I shower in the gym so the less time spent in the shower there the better for all concerned...

Depends on if I may exfoliate and shave.

I feel your pain. In my college house we have a shítty shower, straight from the tap. many times I have given into second nature by flushing the toilet before showering, having to stand there for a good 5 mins before the temprature levels out

thankfully we have a power shower at home :D

Depends really... if I've just had a haircut and have a million tiny hairs to rinse out, it may take a while... or if I'm in a hurry to be somewhere, I can be out in a flash.

If I shower with someone, does that mean I have to divide my time by 2 for your poll?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 641 ✭✭✭Dimitri

I stay in there until someone starts banging on the door which has been up to 40 mins in the past, usually its my sister wanting me to move my car so she can go to work! At this stage my neighbours are used to seeing me get into my car in a towel so its ok!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,119 ✭✭✭Donald-Duck

I spent 40min today, almost as if I fell asleep and woke back up again:confused: . Usually 15min

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 7,486 ✭✭✭Red Alert

we've a power shower too and it's temperature stabilised - which is important if you're like me and like the heat up as high as u can stand - i'd get burned otherwise!

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 30,662 Mod ✭✭✭✭Faith

15 to 20 minutes, usually. That's without wasting time either. I have waist lenght hair that requires lots of attention and conditioner.

I'd stay there all day if I wasn't impatient!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,597 ✭✭✭anniehoo

Apply shampoo to head (even though I'm a blade 1), armpits, groin and arse.

You shampoo your arse :D:D v funny image in my head now, could create a new LOreal shampoo line for blokes with v hairy bums but bald heads!!!

It's always either 10 mins or over an hour.

over an hour? il spend 10-15 mins in there usually and I thought that was a long time.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 653 ✭✭✭little miss

Five to ten minutes usually. Can't see how someone can take half an hour! Unless you're up to something other than getting clean. ;) Now, a bath is a whole different matter. I think its my second favourite place after bed!

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 7,486 ✭✭✭Red Alert

i usually am about 15 mins. i do a thorough clean!

About 10 minutes in a hot shower, then turn it down to tepid and flash from tepid to cold, turning around and shouting.

Ages about half an hour at least. I've my various shower creams and potions and I also have a radio in the shower which i sing along to so the time passes really quickly and befre i know it the 1/2 hour is up!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,241 ✭✭✭drdre

Usually 5-10 mins sometimes more :)

10-15 minutes depending on how rushed I am. I love the shower, so when I'm not in a rush (like when I have to go to work) I can stay in it for 20 mins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,324 ✭✭✭Alter-Ego

Usually around 20-30 mins. I like my showers and i have thick, long, 70's rock type hair.

I know someone who can take an hour in the shower.

i used to take really long showers before i went to college but my flat mates in college made me change cause i used up all the water. lol.

    now usually 10min

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,967 ✭✭✭Pyr0

More than a half hour anyway !! I have really long curly hair, so that has to be brushed properly then washed, the rest is washing myself. Longer than the average guy I'd say :P
