Minimising Excess Skin?

Hi Guys you have all probably seen my thread over here and things are going great and I have noticed a huge drop in body fat already, about 4 " now.

I am very dedicated and very committed to what I am doing and I really feel now is my time to conquer this.

Just a little worried about horrible excess skin that will remain around my mid-section (Only place I carry weight) when I reach my targets.

Is there any exercises I can do to limit this? Or is it going to to take surgery?

    Thanks in advance :o

Dont lose the weight too fast and hopefully the skin will contract with the weight loss

    Thanks Degsy

And should I still end up with the skin...what action do I take then?

I imagine there are plenty of creams available for post natal women with excess skin.

    Congrats on the weight-loss so far. As for the skin, because you're still young you should be able to lose quite alot of weight without excess skin being a big problem. If there is an issue with it the basic approaches are;
1] Bulk up with muscle (probably not appropriate here).
2] Apply Preperation H to the loose skin (effect is temporary, and won't get rid of excessive looseness).
3] I haven't heard of using Bio-Oil for this, but it seems to me like it could be an option?
4] Topical applications of caffeine (temporarily dries/tightens skin).
5] Surgery (long-lasting solution, can get rid of large amounts of loose skin, leaves some scarring in any example I've ever seen).

To be honest I'd say you may be jumping the gun a little here. Like I say you're still young enough that your skin might recover very well by itself.

I have this problem now (I'm 27), so far I've lost 5 stone and the saggy skin is most noticible around the belly where the spare tyre was and the top of the legs. I've read that if you lose all the weight the skin will srink back and it has happened to a certain extent but not total. I've started using the nivia q10 stuff and that works a little bit but I don't think it's going to work over all and I might have to go for surgery once all the weight is gone.

It's a real kick in the teeth going through lossing the weight then being confronted with a new body disfigurment but that's life what can ya do, at least you get the benifits of being thiner and healthier.

Exactly, and sure people don't really see the loose bits for most of the year.

    What age are you?

I don't want to freak you out, but as you get older the ability of your skin to 'retract' is lost.

Congrats on the weight loss, fair play, unless you are in your late 40's or so then you should be alright probably.

I went from 15+ stone to around 11 stone on lipotrim and lost a huge amount in the waist area. It was a little loose but tightened up again quickly enough when my weight stabilised, only advice there would be to keep the skin moisturised well , more supple skin doent show wrinkles so badly!

Anyhow, i went back to my old diet shortly afterwards and am now back where I was before lipotrim so am about to loose it the proper way..but thats another story thats not relevant here.

Exercise people, if your a water baby then "breast stroke" swimming will sort you out, but you gotta be quick at it none of that granny slow swimming.
