I know that avocadoes are yummy and also great, nuts and olive oil, fish etc I love too, but......

I have seen peanut butter on similar lists, now I love PB but I cant buy that it can be on a list with the above.

*consults jar confined to back of press lately...

    32g serving = 190 cal !!
15g of fat! (3g sat fat)
    7g carb
    8g protein

Now a lot of the cals some from the nut content but what about the rest?

Are there PBs with less sugar on the market, or is it a good post weights food, or should it just be avoided?

The bad stuff you get in regular supermarkets is 90% roast peanuts. The rest is sugar and some salt. No oil added. (Panda)

Some of them have palm oil and sunflower oil added.

Eww palm oil...that was used as axle grease when first imported into the US. Tasty!

I remember being in a health food chain in the US where you could make your own peanut butter from a vareity of different fresh, organic nuts using an in-house grinder... amazing!

That is what it is, just liquidised peanuts. I read the labels on all my food, you would be surprised what a lot of things are/contain.

Tesco do value peanuts, it is cheaper to liquidise them yourself than buy peanut butter. Plus you know it is not the scrapings off the KP floor! I like crunchy peanut butter so just blend it a small amount.

I think Mickk might have been talking about lower fat peanut butter for his shop. It makes sense that if you can buy peanut oil from shops then the peanuts must be pressed resulting in oil and "low fat peanut butter". The fact it separates easily on the shelf means you could just pour it off and maybe use it for cooking

I just assumed PB contained butter not just the peanut oil. Never eat the stuff though, think its mank.
