Strange vtun problem

I'm having a problem with vtun that's completely stumping me. I've set up a tunnel between two machines - something I've done regularly before; to give you some idea, the interface at the server end is tap56. This is the only one that's giving this problem.

When I go to some websites - www.sterling.dk is one example - the tunnel falls over. syslog shows the message "Apr 25 20:44:45 zen vtund[8244]: Message too long (90)". I can't for the life of me figure out what this means.

What's really bugging me about it is that that message doesn't appear anywhere in the vtun source code, nor can I see it when I run strings against the binary.

    Any pointers?

Never mind - found a router in the path with its MTU set to 1470.
