    **** star episode.

I liked the way it touched on everyone's story thread.

The only thing I didn't like or rather, didn't understand was
why didn't Mohinder off Sylar while he was out!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,081 ✭✭✭BKtje

probably more worried with trying to save peter i guess.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,837 ✭✭✭abelard

I think it had a lot to live up to after the last few episodes, and it wasn't quite up there with them, but was still bloody good.

I thought he same thing about Mohinder not offing Sylar. So many sharp shards of glass lying about and he didn't use any!

I was wondering after the last episode if Linderman would actually turn out to be not so bad, but no, I guess he is one of these "fire is the cleanser" madmen! :D

I'm not really liking the way the writers are using Candice, she makes many things kind of too easy to pull off, and I think the writers could use a bit more imagination in that respect.

Can't wait to learn a bit more about Peter and Nathan's mum, she seems like she might have an interesting story/power.

Interesting development too that Sprague can cause EMP bursts.

Anyway, story developed well on the whole, so no complaints really!

HRG seems to know more about people's ability to control their powers than they do themselves.

    Interesting...

do we need to spoiler the stuff about hiro?
my god what an ep! couldnt believe it about isaac though
what exactly did he do that was so heroic? i missed that...
micah off with linders eh?? that should be interesting!

    Same here.

Though he mentioned something like he was letting the others know how to kill Sylar or something...

And what about what Sylar was painting? Did it look like him in the Oval Office or just some sh*t painting skills!?

Why didn't Peter duck? I mean, he's standing there and can see what Sylar's planning to do, and it doesn't occur to him to get out of the way? In fact, he actually turned his back??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,119 ✭✭✭Volvagia

really enjoyed it, so glad its back.
One thing that got me thinking was when Linderman was talking about when he learned of powers and how there was others too and how they all found each other and tried to make a difference to the world but then some of them lost their way.
Maybe there was a whole crew of old heroes, like Linderman and maybe Nathan and Peter auld one, going around back in the day?

With regards the kid, could we be seeing an electronic rigging of the polls?

How nathan has come over to the darkside is pretty cool in the fact that if he thinks his brother is now indistructable he MAY be willing to sacrafice the new york population in order to get elected, well it would assume that way what with him asking claire to leave.

Linderman and nathans mom + dad must have been in the old group linder was talking about perhaps an interesting turn of events regarding old relationships will turn up.

Not sure but maybe, just maybe issacs final paints on how to kill sylar were in his final edition of the comic book he gave the young asian chap.

All in all a nice episode and its becoming more apparent that linderman owns the "company" if thats so then what involvment does hiro's father have with him?

9/10 for me, progressed the story along nice and smooth, lost prison break writers take note please.

That was great, so good to see them still on form after the break in the season.

I would just say the final episode of the comic showed Isaac that Hiro will find a way to stop things in the future and it will be something Isaac has done. Also please people the thread says spoilers in the title. If somebody reads it despite this then tough you know what. We don't need to use them within surely.

His spoiler comment made me laugh too.

What was Peter thinking, turning his back to Sylar when he was invisible? Surely a stupid thing to do. Obviously though Peter is not ready for a face off with Sylar yet.

I liked the look on Nathan's face when he was asking Claire to go away for a week and then come back. He knows that Peter is due to go thermo the day after the election. I'd also assume that Mikah is going to rig the election too.

So great to have it back, finally, even if it's only for a few weeks and then half a years break :(
    Otacon wrote:

I didn't think it was all that heroic to lie there and die, especially when he knew it was coming. I can only imagine that he knows exactly where his death leads and was OK with giving his abilities to Sylar. As for showing the others how to kill Sylar, I can only imagine it's either in the sketch book or the final comic.

Couldn't quite figure out what Sylar was drawing at the end either, looked kind of like a darker version of the President Nathan scene, with a green faced Sylar as president too.

Really enjoyed watching it after that break, its pretty addictive!

Very good episode! Not the best, but very good all he same!

I guess Peter was trying to sneak around without disturbing anything or making noise, thatd have given him away immediately!

Interesting that Ted is coming to New York now, when will he and Peter meet?

You don't think that maybe the reason that Nathan is willing to go along with Linderman is for his wife's sake. He blames himself for her ending up in a wheelchair so if he goes along with Linderman's plan part of the deal is probably to fix her.

    oooh. interesting idea..

when sylar goes to isaacs apt and asks isaac to show him the paintings, the second time he says, "show me" it sounds like he's using edens voice command talent. i though eden blew her brains out to prevent sylar getting her power?

Didn't enjoy this episode much really.. apart from the showdown between Peter and Sylar, it was all a bit meh!

Didn't particularly enjoy HRG, Ted and Matt escaping, the death of Isaac was inevitable and nothing spectacular, the meeting of Claire / Nathan / Peter was decent but all-in-all a bit schmaltzy, especially with Peter & Nathan's over-acting mother.

Might just be me.. but probably one of my least favourite so far.

actually.. peter doesn't know what sylar's powers are. (and incase you're forgetting, Sylar obtained the super-hearing power not too long ago, so he knew where peter was at all times, ducking wouldn't help)

Very interesting plot development. Must say i cant wait for the next ep... also, Is it just me, or does Future Hiro seem.. mad at Hiro? the last comment 'You....' with the sword still raised.. blergh

Isaac, well.. i suppose we knew for about 2 episodes he was going to die. Still a shame, but maybe next ep. we'll find out what he meant? Regarding Sylars painting... i think it was Linderman? not too sure though, weird painting.

It will be interesting to see what use linderman has for micah's power...

    also. DOUBLE HIRO OMG \o/

how did Mohinder just get up and go with the attack he got from sylar?

its oviouse that they cant change the future, due to if they could.. wouldnt future hiro go back and do it, because his skills are so developed(when he meet peter, he can stop time, make 1 person still be in a bubble with him and talk ect ) there is going to be a fraction in the people, good V evil..

nathan/peters mum, oviously knew linerman and so did the father. and the mother knows what lies ahead. great ep i think

Nah... I agree... it was no where near as good as it could have been.. it was very much a pedestrian episode to move the plot along to the season finale.

Some of the dialogue was horribly corny and predictable as well.

Oh... and nice work on the opening post and the poll 'thelordofcheese'

Great stuff, delighted to have it back. Check out the latest graphic novel: in it,
we find out that the future can be changed and we get to see what the world would be like if Sylar had killed Claire and taken her power.

Interesting that Mohinder is now working with the Company. The poor guy has no luck with the allies he makes: Eden, Sylar and now that Company guy who looks like a refugee from a 60s spy movie.

Strange as well that Sylar seems to have Eden's power anyway. Maybe when she blew her brains out, the part that Sylar ingests was still intact?

It's no surprise that Peter was facing away from Sylar when the glass was flying - even if he knew he could heal, it would be a natural reaction to turn away from glass flying at his face. His eyes would have taken a few seconds to heal anyway and he didn't want to be blind around Sylar for even a little while. Most of his fringe is still intact but at least it's gelled back now. He's turned his back on the emo lifestyle.

I wonder what Angela Petrelli's power is? In the next season, we might see "Heroes - The Early Years" and find out what Angela, Linderman and pals got up to.

Enjoyed it, although it felt longer than it actually was. Don't know if that was noise in the apartment distracting us (shut up flatmates!) or somethnig about the episode itself..

It did feel a bit like a bridging piece, to allow the story to progress. It wasn't very self contained at all - more so than normal. So there may have been a lack of balance and the structure might have been off... but I still liked it.

The Peter vs Sylar scene was a great taste of what we can expect to see in the season finale. I forget how much fun Sylar is and it was good to see him finally bump off the somewhat lame Isaac. He's got an interesting art talent :)
Never thought Peter was dead though so there was no real dramatic impact. Also how did Suresh lump aroudn a dead body in a taxi and not raise suspicion?!

Finally, liked the end. Hiro vs Hiro! I'm assuming that all those threads in the future represent different timelines. Each of the threads led to the bomb. So FutureHiro has jumpd into the past and been trying to tweak various moments (as we saw earlier in the season) to try and prevent the future. Each thread represents one timeline that he tried to alter - and failed to stop the bomb.
He's annoyed with CurrentHiro for mucking up his plans?
So Hiro will be told by FutureHiro that he can't stop the bomb. But this being "Heroes" and this being destiny, the lesson will be that we can change the future and save the world.

Excellent episode. Some things I noticed.

    1. Whats her name appears to be three people now? Linderman hints at it?

    2. Anyone see the businesscard. It points to here...

    http://www.primatechpaper.com/

    3. What was the piece of paper under the book that was given to the courier? Was it a clue in killing Sylar?

    4. The comic suggests that Sylar caused the explosion not Peter, yet Peter is said to do it now?

    5. Sylars picture looks distorted somehow which might explain how the timeline works. In the comic it suggests that time is based on interactions of the whole.

Whats his the painter mentions that by dying he is saving the future. It is possible he knows that his death starts off the chain of events which stop Sylar.

We know future hiro is trying to correct the mistake but can't see the future until it is changed. It is possible that he is outside the normal space/time. Where as the painter is trapped within a fixed quantum timeline.

Basically while the artist is alive the future cannot deviate from his timeline. But if he dies it allows other timelines to open up. Which is why he said "You can't fight the future".

Sylar obsorbing his powers has changed the timeline which is why the picture changed.

This is how Titor time travel is supposed to work.

Thats what I think as well. Future hiro knows that any trip back to the past changes the future even in small ways, so meeting peter outside of the normal flow of time allowed him to pass a message without changing anything else.

He may have been trying to "contact" him for a while. Thats why he asked him to bang on the pipe, so he would know when he "heard" him.

I liked the episode, but did get a feeling it was a taste of whats to come, rather than a all out ep. Still though, fairly enjoyable.

I liked that Claire knew to pull out the glass so that he would heal. It shows that she is understanding limits to her power. IE that she cant heal if an object is stopping it from happening.

I'm also liking the comics on how Linderman and Petes dad met. As well as how Hiro from the future didn't use his power to bend space to go back to meet Peter. Maybe it makes his power unstable and sends him to any time/place

He did. But he was only able to cause the explosion because he'd taken Claire's regeneration power. The comic is pretty much the day of future hiros life which includes telling peter to save the cheerleader and finding past hiro. Before he went back, Sylar had ben the bomb. WHen he told peter to save Claire, peter became the bomb.

I haven't done it myself but it seems to be tying in to the episodes nicely. Here's a link to Hana Gitelman's blog, part of the 360 experience (I think). In it she says:
On Monday, the City of New York will begin a five-day test on their new computerized voting machines — one borough per day.

At the same time, Linderman's top computer programmers will be conducting a test of their own. They will be testing a program designed to rig the election without alerting the New York Voting Authority.

And that's where you come in. I need everyone here, each day, to reverse the manipulated votes in order to expose the flaws in their system and shut them down.

Didn't Linderman say something about how his first plan to rig the election had been thwarted? Looks like the Heroes 360 people put a stop to his gallop, which is why he needs Micah instead. I knew that kid was a threat to democracy from the moment I laid eyes on him.

Oh... and nice work on the opening post and the poll 'thelordofcheese'

    cheers.

Anyway, having read the comics, it adds a few new things to it, such as the connection between Petrelli snr and Linderman. As for Mama Petrelli, i'm wondering what her power is as well, i really have no ideas though.

Just one little thing, way back at the start, hiro finds Issacs body, minus his braaaaaains, and then shortly afterwards new york is toast.
Unless the order of events has changed dramatically, i guess that means there is very little time to stop peter before he nukes everything.
I get the feeling that the next few episodes will be very quickly paced.

Also, i get the feeling that Niki/Jessica will feature very heavily in the next episode, with mica gone to Lindermans i reckon she'll go straight back looking for bloody vengance.
Which makes me wonder what the 'insurance policy' Linderman has taken out on her? A new hero, or has jessica been tagged?

the mother's power must be the prophetic dreams peter has. hence she's seen the future with or without nathan as president, hence her determination to get him elected... she knows things
