Put the farm on Clopf today in the 2.50 Punchestown, this horse is a stone cold cert today. My best advise is to take the wheel barrow down to the bank, clean out the account and have it all on this machine. At the moment he is 2/1 where else would you get 200% interest for a 3 minute wait?

I hate these type of posts as some people, (you' be surprised) can sometimes go a bit overboard with tips like these....

    but....

    Shock Horror....

I agree with you, I think Clopf is the bet of the day today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,832 ✭✭✭careca

Just got two tickets, so heading down. Looking forward to it alright.

Clopf v Ebaziyan should be a cracking race. have to stick with Ebaziyan after Cheltenham.

Have a look at Masterofceromonies in the last. Heard the trainer thinks he's very good (take with as much as salt as you need). Good luck all.

May be a good thing - but I have gone for Restoration eway - 33s on Betfair ... Noel Meade has won this for the last two years.

Only 12/1 with Powers - has 1 and a half lengths to make up wit Dev - but may have been prepared for this ... imo

Ebaziyan Has A Chance Here Curent 2/1 Cloff Is Now 7/4 If He Was A Dead Cert He Wolld Be Odd On At Least Dont Bet It If You Cant Afford To Lose It Thats My Rule

If I had a farm I wouldn't be putting it on a horse, I'd be putting it on some serious liver damage! :)

I won't be following Clopf today. I got seriously burnt by that horse in the past and have decided to cut my losses with it and not get involved in a race it has an entry in. Best of luck though, it does look the one to beat on paper!

Dap Daddy you are the ****. All day long. Can I borrow your wheelbarrow after ya? What am I thinkin, with my bank account all I'd need is a small silk type satchel.

Jog On e/w same race. 33's on PP at the mo

And I was only kiddin, you are an integral part of the company and a very hard worker . . . ahem

When did you get your fingers burnt with Clopf?

Fairyhouse in December. Hide the evidence did it in. Think it was 8/11 that day. Bad conditions though

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭IrishMike

Far from a cert mate imho.
Ebyzian is a quality horse and with willie mullins tipping him strongly for this race
he would be my choice if there was a gun to my head.
Also given the fact that clopf doesnt like heavy ground and as i look out the window
its still pouring rain would lead me to suspect that you may want to keep the wheelbarrow
of cash at home for now. He is also 5lbs heavier than he has ever been

Safest option is probably a reverse forecast to be honest or just avoid this race
like i will end up doin.
Either way hope it works out for u
Oh and thanks for the detailed analysis of why you think the horse is untouchable, very informative

which line of form entitles clopf to go off fav against a cheltenham festival winner and a fairyhouse festival winner (who beat a galway hurdle winner)? he was only eighth in the bumper at punchestown and aitmatov has only come into his own since being upped in trip. Clopf looked very good his first 2 runs over hurdles but a wide margin defeat in a subsequent grade 1 and a good win in a poor flat race doesn't entitle him to be so short here. Everyone i speak to tells me he's a machine but I bet on form and he has a lot to find with Ebaziyan IMO. Not saying he can't win but prices are wrong so I'm siding with Willie's horse

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 39 Dap Daddy

Lads its about the potential not form,I agree the price is to short for what he has done on the course.Clopf would have murdered them had he gone to Cheltenham,it was a poor Supreme this year. The Daddy has got the word that the stable are very sweet on this and it will take all the beating.

And Irish Mike,If I throw a dog a bone I don't want to know if it tastes good or not!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

The day he lost to Hide the Evidence the ground was close to unraceable. You have to discount that form entirely. I agree with Dap Daddy on this one, and when I think that a horse is a good thing, and then when I get a phone call from a very good source about the same horse...then I take a wee interest....

It would need to rain for another 10 days and ten nights, solid, before the ground up there became heavy. Ground today is good to firm.

Aye that was the day. I've went ahead and backed it. Damn you! :p

Does anyone know if it's pissing at the race track? It's bucketing down here.

Hopefully, I've went and backed Nickname!

Seriously guys...the rain has come too late. I'd be very surprised if they run Nickname to be honest. The ground is currently described as good to firm. It's probably good with soft in places, but that's not good enough for Nickname.

    wb wrote:

No offence, but backing nickname over this ground today is madness. It's well known that he doesn't fancy anything better than soft. How could Brassil not race him at Cheltenham, citing the going, and then race him today? A bit mad!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,714 ✭✭✭conZ

Wheresben is entered in the 3.30 and currently floating around 25's. In with quite a good each way chance apparantly. Mate is connected with him. He's going very well of late.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,568 ✭✭✭thewools

3.30 My main bet today is PREDATOR (E/W) - been a Fav of mine last year. So with mcCoy back on board instead of Fehily and the ground shows that it will suit perfectly. The faster the ground the better so hopefully the rain holds off in the afternoon

Most bookies giving 1/4 for first 5 so @ 9/1 i cant resist a nice wager today

    Heres to hoping!! :D

    Well, It's a non-runner now, but that's the point - I was trusting Brassil.

He never lets the horse run for the sake of it, and I felt that he must have rated his chances should he let it run today. Obviously the ground is not right, so he did not see it fit to run him.

Which is why he will never win a big race, I just thought they might have a bash. If they're content to win mickey mouse races around navan and the like and never step up to the mark then fair enough. Whats the harm in letting him run?

And I don't care how many phone calls people are getting about Clopf, I'll side with solid Cheltenham form ahead of phone calls any day, and at a nice price too.

Yes, but Clopf didn't run at Cheltenham so it's not easy to just dismiss him just because Ebaziyan did.

Listen here you ****ing fringe, if I throw a dog a bone, I don't want to know if it tastes good or not!

So Mr Daddy, originality please the next time you abuse someone. And if clopf doesn't win, some men with baseball bats shall be making an appearence at your house. ;)

I've backed Clopf as my main bet of the day.

Then just an e/w double for interest:
    Fleet Street 7/1
    Dont' Be Bitin 10/1

Also 10 e/w on Gone Beyond Recall in the 6th

There always one isnt there lads(Knighted).Horse was put up before the money came.Fair enough if you couldn't see what was in front of you but jealousy isn't a good trait.

He has improved alot from that run but he was expected to hose in that day to.All I can pass on is he's come on for the run and there expecting him to go close.

I guess the lesson learnt here is not to assume, and as far as I know our Paddy Power shops don't have internet access.
