Simple question about case fans

How do you get them on? I bought a cheap fan today for a few euro hoping to better the airflow to my second machine as it's not so great temps wise when I'm running games and the like on it. I mean, it's on there now, but I had to use double sided sticky pads. The screws just wouldn't go through the holes in the side of the case...is it ok to use, say, superglue as well? The stickypads seem to be doing a good job so far but...hardly desirable! So just wondering what other inventive ways you'd use to get them on there...
