Gyms in Ireland

    Hi guys,

I'm doing a project for uni and was wondering if anyone has any idea (even a rough estimate will help) of the following data:

How many gyms are there in Ireland?
How many people approximately attend the gym in Ireland?
Out of these people, what % consume protein supplements?
How many protein retailers there are in Ireland? fitnessireland.ie etc.

Any insight will be helpful - thanks in advance!

    Dave.

What exactly is the project about? I take whey protein but don't go to a gym. Do the shops solely have to be selling supplements? i.e. tesco sell protein "supplements", like casein powder, slimfast, skimmed milk powder.

There might not be as direct a link between weight training and protein supplements as you think, I know vegetarians who take them since their normal diet would lack it.
