I talked to Frank at Fire-Support and he said that he could send up to 15 bottles of bb's for postage of £15. Each bottle is £12. These are .20g bb's. See Excel .20g BB's.

Anyone here interested in a group buy

Will see what my money situation is but you could proably put me down for 2-3 bottles.

how many are in a bottle? would that not mean its cheaper to buy from HRTA or BFSL in ireland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,077 ✭✭✭thecivvie

6000 per bottle. Delivery in ireland will be problem but I will sort something so there is no extra cost, or only a small one

thats a pointless purchase. if you buy from an irish seller your bound to get a much better deal. speak with Paul at HRTA or Derek at BFSL.

I have emailed Derek 2 or 3 times, never got a reply. As it stands if we could get enough people or say 10 lads who wanted 30+ bottles, I am sure that F-S would give a better price given a large enough order

Guys, not to dis FireSupport as they're an excellent airsoft retailer and their customer service level is 2nd to none, but the cheapest Excel BBs in the UK ( and therefore, likely also the cheapest for the ROI even when postage is added ) is www.flecktarn.co.uk who sell bags of 3700 excel 0.2g for £5.49 a bag. You do the math! And Flecktarns customer service level is on par with that of FS.
    Hope this helps.

Casper is right we would be much better off getting the bb's off flecktarn.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,518 ✭✭✭[--SC(+)PE--]

id go in for one bottle regardless

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,077 ✭✭✭thecivvie

Maybe we need a price from Flecktarn as well and go with the best. My idea is simple, the more of us who can get together and buy as a group, we all save and that is a good idea. A few years ago, I was involved in a group buy scheme and it saved me a fair few pounds.

I will contact Frank at F-S now and see what price he can do bottles or bags in for a bulk buy

    Hi tcob I am in.

Hey guys I was bored (and I'm a miser :D) so I thought I'd work out the math on the fire support offer

    15 bottles of 6000 BBs at 12GBP + 15GBP shipping = 195GBP for 90,000 bbs thats about €286

Just having a look at BFSL's price list and they have 30Kg boxes of .20g Excels (thats 150,000 bbs) listed for about €345 which works out around €2.3 per 1000.
They also have 30Kg boxes of .23s, about 130,000 bbs (which I personally prefer) for €410 so thats about 3.14 per 1000. So if anybody is interested in splitting a case of .23s or .20s with me it might be worth giving BFSL another ring.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

wouldnt mind splitting a box of .23s or even .20s myself, maybe get 3/4 people to split a box?

    are those prices including shipping?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

    Yeah id be interested.

There shouldn't be any shipping since the retailer is in Ireland, but I'll give him a ring tomorrow to get a definite figure and see how long it would take to order etc

Its probably easiest to split the .20 box between 3 people as it divides nice and evenly 50,000 BBs a piece. Now where the hell am I going to keep 50,000 BBs :D

Cool, if more people are interested we can obviously put in an order for more than one box so sound off if you want in and I'll try and have a final price tomorrow

i meant if derek charged shipping that he pays, but it was a bit of a stupid question tbh...

i live about 5 mins drive (in heavy traffic) from ballymount, so ive no problem collecting them and bringing to hrta/wherever if we decide to go ahead and split a box

can just split the box based on the weight anyway, so 30kg/3 =10kg each or 30kg/4 = 7.5kg each etc...

need to find a place for storage myself too :p

copy and paste the list below and add your name to it if your interested:

    N.O.I.P.
    liamo333
    kdouglas

(i only put in the names of those who said yes after boxes from bfsl were mentioned, since stuff from firesupport is per bottle)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,121 ✭✭✭N.O.I.P.

Truth be told I was just going to use a scales to divide it up myself. I was talking to hivemind about the order and he has recommended we start looking at miniguns or 60s at the very least :D

dont know what's wrong with me today, keep stating the obvious..you were hardly going to count them out now were you!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

Why not? Can't take that long to count 300,000bb's.

This is one method I hd not thought off. In fact I m glad you brought it up because if we could get enough people together then it would really make it worthwhile. My only problem would be that I cannot get HRTA as much as I would like

Well getting to HRTA shouldnt matter I'm sure there is somebody who lives close enough to you to collect the BBs for you and if not we can bully somebody into going for a little drive :D

If you can bully them to drive to Galway, great. But yeah I think we would be able to find someone

assuming those prices are correct €23 for 10,000

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

Are you getting the .23s or the .20s?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,121 ✭✭✭N.O.I.P.

I assume we will go with the .20s since they are cheaper and there is more of them plus I am the only one who seems to have a preference for the .23s :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 747 ✭✭✭EyesOnly

If he's placing the order on friday how long till he gets them in?
    Im down to about 4k .23's and 1k .2's.
I'll take 10-15k if it aint gunna take long. was thinking of going to pred this weekend and getting some there.

He reckons it will take 4-5 days once the order is placed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

Put me down for 30,000 .20s or 20,000 .23. I would prefer .23g ones btw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

was gonna suggest getting a box of .20s and another of .23s, but there's not enough people that want both and i reckon itll just cause complications, bfsl does have tubs of 5000 (i think) .23s, cant remember the price though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,121 ✭✭✭N.O.I.P.

Well we do have until friday so we may still get enough people to buy a box of each. Hopefully we will as I would much prefer to get the .23s but if the majority wants .20s then thats what we get. Aint democracy great :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,121 ✭✭✭N.O.I.P.

Ok guys if we gets the .20s then
    Tcob1 now wants 20,000
    I'll be taking 50,000
    and Liamo333 wants 30,000

So who wants what from the remaining 50,000
