That Mastercard charge you asked about is for an ACTUAL Credit Card (plastic one), cause this wirecard thing is from a proper Bank.
I see. I thought this was the charge was for getting a physical card:

Charge for card sending 5,00 EUR

Maybe it's just a handling fee or whatever.

Anyway, I emailed them earlier just to see what they say. Hopefully I'll hear back from them tomorrow. The currency conversion charge is standard, so I expect that. So does the charge to lodge funds to your wirecard account still apply? They have to make money somehow after all ;)

Deposit money by wire transfer 1,00 EUR

(I'm guessing this is the same as doing a transfer from my AIB Online Banking?)

Also what is the return fee for?

Return fee (Direct Debit, Credit Card)
    Variable 1,00 % Minimum Charge 10,00 EUR

One other thing I just thought of... What's the lifespan of these virtual Mastercards? (ie what's the duration from date of issue to the expiry date).

Just on the 1.5% currency conversion charge, is that standard for every transaction? Am I right in thinking that if I wan to buy an item for $100, and maybe a few other things, that I deposit say €200 to my wirecard through wire transfer, so because of the €1 charge, I now have €199 to spend, I buy that item for $100, and because it's in $, I also have to pay 1.5% of the cost ($1.50) so I'm being charged $101.50 for the item so I'm left with €199 minus $101.50 (€80 euro-ish) on the card. Is that right or is it a 1.5% charge somewhere else? :)

Would also like to know about the expiry, so with the €120 or so euro left on my card after buying the item for $101.50 (or $100 with a 1.5% charge somewhere else), will that stay there worry free until I want to buy something again which could be in another year or 2? And if I want to buy something for €125, I just deposit €6 and I'll be charged €1 so ill be left with €125.

Would the return fee be for returning funds on your card back to your bank? Or would it be if a company refund money to your card?

No comparison. Wirecard is much more convenient and there's none of this crap about topping up or trying to use up all your voucher.

But there is kind of since they do not have Direct Debit?

You need to fill out the form to send money to the account to top it up?

Yeah I think you have it about right. According to the 3V site they charge 1.75% for currency conversion.

    According to Wirecard:

'return fee' refers to the fee charged against a customer when deduction from his or her bank account (direct debit) or credit card was not completed, so in case your funding method is only bank wire, there will be no return fees occurring because you will always need to tranfer funds before use.

Also they confirmed that the 24.90 annual fee is if you require a physical card. They didn't give me an answer on how long the cards last though, so hopefully someone who has one here can answer that.

But you can't top up 3v full stop, and you have to either spend all the funds on the voucher, spend 2.50 to get it back or lose it. Also Wirecard is valid for two years and you have the same C.C. no for that period. There are other ways to transfer funds to wirecard, have a read of this.

Does anyone know if 3v can be used on sideshowtoy.com?

Anywhere that accepts VISA will accept 3v - it is that straightforward. I use 3v quite a bit and I find it spot on and cheap.:):)
