I have been on the lookout for a DVD rcorder for a while....this looks like it will do the job just fine - a hell of a lot cheaper than komplett , pixmania etc..It will just take a bit longer to get delivered :(

Me too. Not got the use for it tbh.

Are all the iboods different? Different product each day for each country?

It appears they have the same item today anyway. Sorry, not sure, just the results google were giving me back

I'm very tempted but it doesnt get a great review at all.

Plus that review dates back to 2005. Its a very old machine

I must say it looks good. But is it worth actually getting?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,715 ✭✭✭Gryzor

just picked one up anyways....wanted one for copying stuff off my sky+ box, just wasn't willing to pay €200 for one.....€99 will do nicely...:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,106 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

    Sold out already.
99 bobs was superb value for a hard drive based recorder, you wouldnt even get a basic DVD recorder for that price.
    Its basic but functional.

Not interesting interesting. Just nice to know how big a company is, and how much business a company like this does in a pan european market.

    They got in 600 of these PVRs (€100), 700 of the clocks (€10), 300 of the usb hubs (€8), 280 nanos (€120), 177 kiss PVR's (€200)

So how much have they made in the last week?

There doesnt seem to be much scope for a mark up

Prehaps it's Delboy and Rodney operating out of the back of a van with a laptop? :D

I've been curious myself about figures. Where did you get info on how many they got in?

product list holds archive of the last few products they sold, and the discussions the users had. If they sell out of an item, they update the first post with "Sold Out", and say how many they sold.
Ignore the rest of the posts in the so called discussions. They sound like shills, and i've had trouble trying to post there myself.

I find the "forum discussions" very funny, it's like reading the script from an infomercial.

"Wow! €99 is a good price for a discombobulator"
"It has 2 billion tera-units. I could use that"
"I bought this the last time for [150% of the latest price] and it's excellent"
"Can this do [something that everything can do, and more to the point has been listed as a feature in the summary of features]? If it can I'm buying two"

Also, I'm beginning to think that ibood is only useful to people who are online between midnight and four a.m. generally. Most things with a wide appeal, like this DVD recorder and previous iPod deals seem to sell out within the first few hours. And actually, the last iPod deal was only about €10 cheaper than Komplett had it for that week iirc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

Top tip... it actually changes the offer at 11pm every night for us.

It's just changed over to 1gig of ram.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,267 ✭✭✭mcgovern

    Any feedback on the RAM?
Looks like a good deal to me. Just ordered a Dell today and the RAM was one thing I was thinking of upgrading. €100 for an extra 1GB off Dell, this works out about €60.

Was that includeing the delivery from Ibood?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,619 ✭✭✭milltown

No, both prices net of delivery. I don't know what ibood charge for delivery so I suppose it could have worked out much the same.

Sometimes but not always. I purchased the DVD recorder at 11am.

So then it would still work out that bit cheaper from Ibood. I can't believe that I missed out on that hard drive the other day. It would have came in handy. What would the chances be of them selling the same one, or one simular to that again?

Anyone receive this yet? 10 days delivery me arse!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,103 ✭✭✭Neil_Sedaka

    No, not yet.

Emailed them and got a reply saying, "v sorry for the delay, should be posted on Mon 23rd or Tue 24th"

Just had a look and my order is still "in progress"

well, I got the TV when it was on offer (coincidentally I had just decided to buy a new tv earlier that day!). It was late arriving (arrived two days ago) but I have to say.... 12.50 for delivery. It was 50kg and arrived on a shipping pallet of its own, extremely well parcelled and padded.

    it works beautifully :)

I can forgive them the delivery times. Just have to keep in mind that you dont buy anything you need in a hurry from them.

The delivery is very good for big items, like TV's etc..... But for the smaller portable items, I think it is very dear. Like for the USB Memory Stick, €12.50 was a bit steap for that.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,836 ✭✭✭BigCon

I have no problem with the delivery price, €12.50 for everything seems fine to me. What bugs me though is the delivery times - if they told me I wouldn't gret it for 2 months, I'd be happy once I knew when it would arrive - it's the not knowing that's the worst...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,276 ✭✭✭slayerking

    IBOODS phone number is 0031206811388.

Id suggest that anyone who needs help to ring them coz they never reply to emails and if they do its normally about a week later.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,103 ✭✭✭Neil_Sedaka

Mine arrived by courier today, with a letter in dutch explaining that they could not send the model ordered, instead they have sent a similar spec Invion SP-DVD50E-0947, has a 3-1 card reader and a built in DVB-T tuner. seems ok but as I am at work I have not set it up yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,715 ✭✭✭Gryzor

i rang them to cancel my order (DVD recorder ordered on 1oth April) on Thursday...nearly a month, with no sign of delivery or communication....was told i'd get a confirmation by email...nothing so far, and my order status is "in progress"

so in other words they've sent something you didn't order.... I still haven't received mine yet, nearly one month later.
