So I was thinking - what should be thrown into the bag for the days poker sessions.

    Water
    Sandwich
    Fruit (Flipper reccomends a bannana)
    Chocolates
    Mints
    Chewing Gum
    Lucozade
    Red Bull
    i Pod
    Tooth Pick (I recommend this)

    any other essential kit?

i find it's helpful to bring one of those mini fridges along to have beside me to keep my drinks cold, and while you are at it a large fan too to keep you cool. you'll need a large card protector because of the fan, a small dog works quite well, a terrier if handy because of their tilting yaps. a portaloo is also a good plan for speedy toilet breaks. you can cut a hole in the door so you don't miss a hand.

    lol.

on a linked note...any idea if they'll be providing water/soft drinks at the tables?

and is it no alcohol in the poker room for the rest of the weekend too? (not just "good" friday)

    any other essential kit?

There may be a waitress service but despite the fact that I would *bathe* in coffee if I could, I wouldnt recommend Redbull or even lots of coffee for long sessions as it has a number of physiological that arent good for 12 hours of concentration. You feel more awake and alert but the reality is that you are less capable of sitting and concentrating for long periods.

Officially it is 4pm, but you have to verify registration either this evening, or else tomorrow by 2pm.

"..On Day 1 of the Main Event we have reserved the Sussex Restaurant from 12pm-2.30pm for all our qualifiers where there will be a complimentary brunch – more importantly it will be your first official point of contact with the paddypowerpoker team. You will receive your clothing to wear at the event, it will also include your terms and conditions for taking part. Once this has been completed you are free to leave."

We are neither climbing everest for the weekend, nor will there be any 16 hour sessions in a desert. There will be waitresses and a bar/restaurant nearby.

As for the Flipper thing, I hope you are not suggesting he is deserving of sympathy, if so I wonder can you enlighten me on the part where he is unlucky or else deserving of sympathy? If he is not looking for sympathy or reassurance about something then why the post in the first place?

I am not against a good moan now and then but a baseless whinge isn't my thing really.
