Hi guys, not sure if this is the right forum but I injured (very sore on the lower left side) my back a few weeks ago at training and it hasn't gotten any better so hoping to get it looked at. Has anybody any experience of dealing with physios around Dublin (city center preferrably/D9 preferrably). You hear stories of cowboys out there so I'd be careful enough about who I'd go to with a back injury.

You probably (hopefully) won't need a physio for your back - go to you're GP first and he should be able to tell you what you need. Back pain is very painful, but rarely as serious as you think it is. I reckon a course of anti inflamatories and you'll be right as rain in a few days. You could even try just getting Anti Inflamatories from a chemist, then GP if that doesn't work, but I would DEFINITELY go to your GP before you go to a pyhsio.

My personal experience with Pyhsio's isn't great - you just seem to throw money at them for little or nothing, and they keep telling you to come back (more money). I haven't found them useful for any injuries I've had. I would always explore any other avenue first.

Drumcondra sports and physiothreapy clinic on the corner of Drumcondra road (at PermanentTSB, AIB and Fagans) are a good group too.

The absolute best, and the ones I use, are in my opinion Sports Med. Ireland off Kildare St. Expensive but worth it!

Shaun Gilmore in Rathmines is highly recommended. He sorts my crock of a mate out with deep tissue work and everything he needs to stop is hams from ripping!

    Cheers guys,

I'm not too great on the details of muscle injury but it feels like there's a "knot" of muscle at my lower back. It seems to me that a good rubbing would loosen it out thats why i was heading down the physio route (I could be totally wrong!!).

I tried the Drumcondra clinic but they didn't have time to suit in the next few days. So heading to the Iona Physio center just up the road. Thanks for all the suggestions!
