Maximuscle Promax Meal chocolate bars

Howdy, due to work etc, it's not easy for me to drink protein shakes, so have been looking at alternatives to try and get enough protein during the day.

I have found the above bars which contain 21.7g protein per bar (17g carb / 5.4 g fat) and are so easy to fit into a busy schedule. Has anyone experienced them ?
Ready made shakes are expensive and hard to find. I'm just concerned about the indredients (e.g Bulking agent, collagen hydrolysate ??) and the level of fat. I don't want to use anything long term that aren't essentially healthy as it would defeat the purpose.

These bars actually taste good, unlike other protein bars I've tried, probably due to the chocolate. Any input would be appreciated - thanks

As with all bars, they are a very last resort. If you are stuck for a dose of protein while you're on the go they are handy, however fitting them into your diet regularly is a no no IMO.
A better bar would be the Universal range of Animal Snak

Here's a second vote for Animal Snack. These bars actually taste good enough to eat for the taste alone. Which is more than I can say for the maximuscle ones. And as with all things maximuscle they're abit of a rip off at about 3.50 per bar.

The Animal snacks work out at like 2.30 each and they pack a considerably larger punch!

ye, be wary of the amount of sugar in the bars (this is the reason it probably tastes half decent rather then the chocolate)

Those would be the ones you stock eh Jon? ;)

they are ridiculously tasty bars in fairness though. OP the problem with meal replacement bars is that they tend to be high in sugars + additives. While there will be a lot of protein in them, nothing substitutes healthy wholefoods. As Jon said, they're a last resort, no more than that. I'd have one maybe once or twice a month when I'm really in a fix, otherwise I do my best to pre-prepare meals or snacks that I can take with me on the go. I keep cans of tuna in work and pre-cook chicken fillets that can be brought anywhere. It just takes a bit of planning.

However Hanley took 5 of them off to the Nationals at the weekend and broke a load of records :D

You might have squated 150 if you had some too :D
