What is this called?

Not sure what this exercise is called. You stand upright, feet together, with a dumb bell in each arm.

    1) Do a bicep curl, then 2) continue on up in to a dumbell military press and then 3) straighten arms and do a slow controlled reverse lateral raise i.e. lower hands from overhead to crucifix style and contine down.

Any ideas? I need it for my fitness log and "3 in 1" just dosen't sound right.

    It sounds overly complicated!

I'd just call it a complex, like CPL (curl/press/lateral raise) complex or complex 1 if you're a fan of them and use other ones. I don't think it has a specific name.

The bear is a good and very tough one.

Ok. I'll check the "bear" out.

I'm sure the gym instructor had a name for it. Overheard him showing someone else. Hammer something?

The only hammer I know is when you hold a dumbell like a hammer and do a bicep curl with it.
