What episode does this happen in?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 765 ✭✭✭6ix

Quality show. Got the first two seasons from a friend recently and I can't recommend it enough. Really good stuff. Think it's coming to RTE 2 soon, I've seen a quick clip in one of their promos.

Yeah, coming in April. Pondered over whether to buy the dvd's online. Can anyone give a brief synopsis of this show?

Entourage is an HBO original series created by Doug Ellin that chronicles the rise of Vincent Chase—a young A-list movie star—and his childhood friends from Queens, New York as they navigate the unfamiliar terrain of Hollywood, California. Ellin, Mark Wahlberg, and Stephen Levinson serve as the show's executive producers, and the show's premise is loosely based on Wahlberg's experiences as an up-and-coming movie star.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell. Each show is only 30 mins, so it's got good punchy content, witty dialogue & guest appearances (1/2 per episode) by people like Jessica Alba & Holly Valance so it's all good. Pool parties (even one at the playboy mansion) occur frequently.

I suppose it's all aspirational stuff, makes you envious of the young rich and good looking A Listers. The characters are very likeable guys, and Jeremy Piven is brilliant as the unscrupulous agent.

Many of the characters are based on real people too, with characters like "Harvey Weingold"

Guy from New York becomes a big movie star. His best friend is his manager, his brother is a struggling actor and his other friend appears to do nothing! Anyway the story revolves around following them as they attend various parties and live up the Hollywood lifestyle. Good programme with lots of celebrity cameos. (Like Jessica Alba and Scarlett Johansson :D )

was given the dvds of season 1 a week or two ago, haven't had a chance to watch it yet
running time:206min, so shouldn't take long to get through the first 8 episodes

Will have a look when RTÉ start showing it.

Season 4 is starting in the US on the 9th!

TV.com has Carla Gugino listed as "Vincent Chases Agent"... :\
I hope Piven hasn't left for good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 765 ✭✭✭6ix

Its actually the end of Season 3 - all the US shows seem to take a mid season hiatus, which can be annoying, especially since the last episode in Season 3 was aired last August! Hopefully Piven stays, and a new season will be confirmed nearer the end of this one.

There are 8 episodes left in season 3 and the good news is that a further 12 episodes have been ordered for season 4

Ups, I thought because of the season length.

8 episodes is way better than 2 or 3!

I actually purchased the first season on DVD not knowing it would be on RTE. I have heard so much good things about the show that I bought the DVD. Its hard to describe . There are not a lot of laugh out loud moments but its the characters and their quirks that provide humour. The show didn't grab me at first but by the end of the first season I felt that I had to buy season 2. My advice is to come in with an open mind as it may seem to 'inside' for some people but it so clever and well made. Try to get people to watch by mentioning the brilliant celeb cameos. like Val Kilmer, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johanson.

Entourage starts on Monday 16th April at 10.55PM after Lost.

Just watched season 1 and the first ep of season 2 this afternoon. Terrific stuff. Piven and Dillon make the show. Brilliant comedic timing, both of them. The writing is also quite superb. Along with the office, this is probably the best comedy(that I've seen) to come from the States in the last few years. I assume it only gets better from here on out? Episode 201 certainly shows no signs of a drop in quality. Infact it was probably the funniest of all the episodes I've seen, to date.

Lets not forget Gary Busey in his best role in years.

Yeah, he was absolutely hilarious. As was James Woods, Richard Schiff(he's on Podge & Rodge tomorrow I think), Ralph Macchio, James Camereon, Pauly Shore(who I normally hate, but was histerical in this), Bob Saget, Peter Dinklage, Malcolm McDowell. The list is endless.

    God, I love this show.

Hi, Does anyone know why Richard Schiff is in Dublin? he was on Podge and Rodge last night. is the play 'Underneath the Lintel' coming to Dublin. I loved him in the West Wing, an amazing actor!

I was under the impression that Season 4 was starting sometime in June just a few weeks after these last 8 episodes of season 3 end? No?

I'm pretty sure I read a HBO press release that said this.

no that is part 2 of season 3 read earlier in this forum post to read about it

Nope, part 2 of season 3 is airing right now. Started last Sunday.

Anyway, I found that article I mentioned above.
HBO ORIGINAL SERIES (HBO) - The pay channel has confirmed its
summer schedule, which will see the network expand to three hours of
original programming on its signature night. It all starts on Sunday,
June 10 at 9:00/8:00c with the swan song of "The Sopranos." Said finale
will lead into the series premiere of David Milch's "John From
Cincinnati" at 10:00/9:00c. The following week, on June 17, "John" will
slide into the 9:00/8:00c hour where it will be bookended by season two
of "Big Love" at 8:00/7:00c and season four of "Entourage" at
    10:00/9:00c
. Closing out the night then will be newcomer "Flight of the
Conchords," a "Curb Your Enthusiasm"-esque comedy about the
fictionalized life of the New Zealand folk parody duo of the same name,
at 10:30/9:30c. Beyond this summer, look for the serialized comedy "In
Treatment" and the relationship dramedy "Tell Me You Love Me" in the
fall while fellow newbies "12 Miles of Bad Road" and (potentially)
"True Blood" are due in 2008. ("Blood," which is currently casting its
pilot, has yet to officially be ordered to series.) And finally, last
but certainly not least, look for the final season of "The Wire" and a
fresh run of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" sometime in early 2008.

Have to wait 'till next year for season 5 of 'The Wire'. :(

    And another year for CYE!

Nope, part 2 of season 3 is airing right now. Started last Sunday.

Yes the second part of season started last Sunday - it was due to be shown in January with Season 4 starting in June but they held it back to pair it with the last 8 episodes of The Soprano's to push it to the next level viewing figures wise. They're filming Season 4 at the moment and it starts in June.

To anyone starting to watch this, give it time. There's only 8 episodes in the first season and while they're good - season 2 and 3 are far far better. Ari and Drama are by far the best. In season 2 and 3 the scenes with Ari and his assistant Lloyd are hysterical and Ari and his wife are great too.

Don't worry - Ari's not going anywhere, there'll be plenty more 'hugging it out' to come. :D

Starts tonight at 10:55 on RTE 2.. I will be watching.

(That's a pretty good Monday night line-up on RTE 2 now, IMO.. Extras -> Naked Camera -> Lost -> Entourage..)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,495 ✭✭✭chalkitdown1

Will they be showing all 3 seasons in a row without any lengthy breaks?

I hope so. Not that I haven't seen them all anyway, but you know....

Last nights ep in the States was quite good. Loyd stole the show.

Yep, I did and really enjoyed it. I'd read so many good reviews of it so I was expecting a lot. I thought the writing and acting was top class, the characters were very likable. Very enjoyable to watch.

    Season 1 is good . . But i agree that season 2 & 3 are priceless . Drama & Lyold are great but it's true Ari is GOD . . . .
Piven owns this show and won't be going anywhere ( hopefully ) .

The cameo's r good also with James Woods , Val Kilmer , James Cameroon . Not to mention Scarlet , Holly Valance & a couple of playboy bunnies and pornstars . Cracking TV Show . .

P.s. whomever associated this show with the OC needs to be neutered . .

I love Ari & Lloyd and Ari & "Mrs Ari" basically I love Ari !! I've read that coming up is Mrs Ari resuming her acting career after 15 years and her role has her cavorting with a sexy man leaving Ari jealous - and the article says - you haven't lived until you've seen Jealous Ari.

    Should be good.:p

Saw the first one on Monday night, what a waste of time showing Podge and Rodge for all this time when they could have been showing this! It's prompted me to get the rest of the episodes since, I couldn't wait. Up to Ep 6 now.

Great, great show. Plus the added attraction of that fine bird from the OC helps too.

I'll watch it a few more weeks but I was disappointed by the pilot, characters were irritating and unfunny.

Yeah it'd want to improve greatly to keep me watching. Nothing especially wrong with it but nothing remarkable either.

Entourage is complete rubbish its just sad, it trys to be a sitcom but all it is is a half a hour of swear and the only reason I would watch is when waiting for 24 when I can't find a remote to change channel

I'm surprised its not longer, it seems more suited to a 40 minute format (well 40-44 mins, whatever they do, and then they pile 16 mins of adds if your watchin on de telly).
