You can take it every day if you want but its not necessary-if i was not eating enough i'd take it daily-if your consuming enough quality food i'd only take it on training days-remember maximuscle want you too use loads of it so you have to buy more-use it to suit your own goals and finances..

Prograin is, like most maximuscle products, a bit of a rip off.

I would not suggest taking it on non training days because you don't need as many calories on non training days as you do on training days. For me, a far better alternative to progain is Mass X, which you can get here….. http://www.pronutrition.ie/products.php?action=product&id=30

    Hi guys......

Progain has received a bit of slagging off over the web by some people who don't actually understand nutritional physiology, but from what I know about nutrition (which is quite alot ), they obviously don't know that much about nutrient combining because Progain is one of the very best high quality weight gainers.

Progain is essentially designed to help people reach a calorie target for growth - so it can be taken on both training and non-training days, like any weight-gainer. Obviously if you only take Progain pre/post workout, then you don't need it on rest days. But if you take it to ensure you reach your calorie needs, then you may need it everyday. Although Progain can be taken as a recovery drink, it isn't high GI like many weight gainers - therefore it's also suitable to supply the calories for lean muscle growth at any other time of the day. Here's why it is NOT high GI:

Regarding whether Progain is sugar based, it definately is not - Progain has maltodextrin as a carb source, in addition to inulin and nutriose. If you think Maltodextrin is high Gi, then you are correct - but that is only if you drink it on its own (like lucozade sport). When mixed with other fibres, fats and proteins, its GI effect is hugely reduced. Progain has been tested independently and received a GI of 64 (medium GI). GI of foods only works in isolation.
