Super Saturday in the Cricket World Cup....

Points at stake, Super 8 places and points too.

Updates here later, but predictions in the meantime...

Sorry South Africa, I think Australia still have the hex on ye in pressure situations. But the key here is the Aussie bowling attack. In SA, they have a fairly settled attack, but the Aussies don't necessarily know what their best attack is. This is one of many things that caused India to go out, and while Super 8 places are not at stake here, it is points. Neither side want to lose this match.

    Too close to call, imo

England - Kenya..... England SHOULD. Like Pakistan SHOULD have beaten Ireland. I will not be surprised if England is surprised, but on paper, England should win this. Might not be pretty for England of the Sky commentators in getting the result.

I think SA will take it today. We have the better bowling attack (imo) and both teams have top batting lineups... if anything I think SA have the longer batting order batting to 9/10.

SA win the toss :D Australia put in to bat - no surprise there. SA've proved their ability to chase down big totals ;)

Hayden gone, good news for South Africa. Looks like they'll be chasing down a fairly big total if Ponting can get going.

Crisis, those first 15 overs almost killed me, those where some insane cricket shots :(. SA are starting to get into the game now, was the slowest 50 there, they just gotta bowl well now and they can get the total down below 400.
We know SA enjoy chasing big totals though :D, Gibbs could come in and brake Haydens record for all we know ;o.
Is it to early for beer :P?

Will the SA batting line up do it again though?

The pitch is an absolute batsman's paradise, the outfield is lightning quick and the field isn't particularly big. I'd have to back our batsmen to get close.

im really hoping australia can keep this form up for the next month.
was hoping to see symonds bat today as well.

I havent seen the game but the SA bowlers hardly bowled well if they conceded 380 no matter what pitch it was.

Ominous signs for the other teams I think, especially if australia bowl well.

    Kenya 112-6

South African bowling was a Joke,
it's simply the lack of different bowlers....

All Fast to med-fast bowlers, I don't know why Smith even put him self im... he is a spinner but not such a great one..

to be fair the pitch was a batsman's pitch, and so are the proximity of the boundary's ropes to the bat's men, but we can only really judge the South African proformance once we see how the Aussies Bowl and how S.africa respond to it..

Samllest International cricket ground in world

    so the game continues...

p.s - woohoo BBQ meat is ready, a few more beers and will be a fine afternoon

This is gonna be an epic match, we are still flying with the bat, smith just brought up his 50. Ponting is really stressin, changed bowlers about 5 times already, onto the spinner now and smith knocked him for four :D.

Indeed. Great knock from Joyce. Would have been looking at a ton if Kenya had set a higher target

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,601 ✭✭✭Marshy

SA 263-4 now needing around 11 an over.

    Eng 154-3 Joyce made 75
Fair play to Edmund, he seems to be back in some form. His fielding is very average however, missed a sitter of a catch earlier.
