well by the looks of it the hk416 is full metal, whereas the m4 is likely to be abs plastic

so, just by looking and materials? i mean there is any internal[AEG] advantage of HK416, e.g. more powerful etc...
    but thx for replying :D

cant say for definite cos im not sure which m4 you were comparing it to, but i just had a look at an m4 on uncompany for $299 and it fires at ~285fps i think, the hk416 you have there is 325-335FPS. the hk also seems to have a couple of features which make it more realistic

great pics, do u have one? i think only VFC has HK416, isn't it?

    I don't heave either an M4 or a HK416.

I saw fire-support just got them in stock on Tuesday. They got 4 16'' barrel versions and 4 10'' barrel versions.

I have seen mixed reviews of them.

from UNcompany, HK416 tag from $450-505, not bad price i think, around 350 euro, what price in fire-support ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

Both versions are £350 works out at €517:( without delivery.

i found some key info about HK416 [frome wikipedia.org]
Key differences from the M4 carbine include:

    Cold hammer-forged barrel - Longer-lasting.
Piston-driven action - Much cleaner system. After 30 rounds fired on full automatic the bolt can be handled by the bare hand. [2]
Free-floating fore-end - Can be removed to clean or alter the gun and reassembled in minutes.
    New iron sight design.
Comes in four variants (different barrel lengths):
    - D10RS (10" barrel)
    - D145RS (14.5" barrel)
    - D165RS (16.5" barrel)
    - D20RS (20" barrel)
Environmental survivability - Can be fired immediately after being submerged in water or buried in sand, [2] and testing by Heckler & Koch shows it can also be fired after being buried in mud!

The HK416 is basically a G36 in the body of an M4 or M16 plus its offered in 7.62 aswell as 5.56. There is a 6.8mm version planned.

Looks more like an M4 with a RAS, long top rail and those awful HK iron sights to me.

Nice, but I prefer the G36 or M733 myself.

The ones in the pic look like 7.62 mags.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

They are the are the HK417s, the second one is using the G3 mags as its an early prototype. The one cloest the camera is the production version.

    416s are 5.56
    417s are 7.62
    418s are 6.8

Then you have Barrett who make the M468, its an M4 chambered for the 6.8SPC using a new upper.

Another reason why it is more expensive is cos it has a ris laser box and an ras fornt end. Both of these will cost you around 160US, I think.

guys hope u know that theres another HK 416 airsoft gun(wateva u wanna call it) by Tokyo Marui. its called M-4S System but fires at 285fps as mentioned on one of the comments. not full metal though and worst of all it has Colt not Heckler and Koch markings. they really got it wrong this time but the VFC version looks sweet.:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

The M4S system is not a HK 416 nor is it ment to be, it is what it is thats why it has Colt markings on it.

Have you seen the cost it BTW: It would be cheaper to buy the full AEG.

CA should have a 416/417 in the works to go along with there good M15 range.

"Rousseau's very functional, although the reduction is the true voice of reduction is not as iron bolt, it was at least a step closer in form again, this is also a good design, it is usually more convenient to adjust HOPUP. not always doom link to regulate the holding bolt HOPUP!

HKLOGO end with the child, good sense, but also in the use of time sloshing point, I feel that another weak point!"
