So as the dust settles on a great day for Ireland, one of the big games of the first round is happening tomorrow. SA V Holland!!!! (lol only messing)

    England V New Zealand.

I have the kiwis backed for the tournament, so would like to see them win (with Ed Joyce playing well for England)

Thoughts on this? Updates in this thread tomorrow

I'm hyping SA for the cup so obviously SA to beat Holland.

I'm an ABE (Anyone but England) in this one so I'm cheering for the Black caps in this match. I would like Ed to get a ton though :D

Another great day of cricketing action coming up!

I have no thoughts on either of these games either! I did have earlier today, but I'm a frazzled wreck atm! A nights sleep awaits, me thinks...

not looking good for them, 32/2 after 11.

it's a funny ground with those houses perched on the hill behind them

****, new z just missed an easy runout when vaughan didn't run at all!

SA vs. Holland match is going to be a reduced over affair. It's looking like 38 overs per innings. If the rain-drenched outfield doesn't dry soon it might be a 20/20 game :(

In know that the game was not likely to be too competitive, but I would've liked to have seen 50 overs from each side instead of he inevitable slogfest.

KP is hitting his stride now. Two 4s in a row. They really need it as NZ were strangling the English there for a while.

Trust the South African to get the runs flowing again.:p

Edit: Michael Vaughn is OUT! 52/3 with Vaughn getting skittled by Franklin for a tame 26 off 52 balls. Attempted to pull a ball that wasn't short enough to pull and instead dragged it onto his stumps.

England will need to consolidate now... with a run rate that is already low at 3.35 per over.

Confirmation that SA v Holland will be 40 over a side game with 8 overs allowed per bowler.

    Yeah! A 6

171 for 7 which is still crap, less than 4 an over.

    SA 110/1 after 18.1 overs. Smith 65* Kallis 41* RR 6.05

I wish I had SKY and not NTL... damn red button doesn't work so I'm forced to watch England game :(

Smith OUT 67 runs off 59 balls.

red button is handy alright, 145-2 now off 24.1, 40 overs max.
kallis is knocking them around a bit now. on 59

edit: direct hit, TV check - not out

England Eng 209-7 at end of play. Not as appalling as it might well have been.
