    Hey guys,

I booked an assessment at my gym, for this Saturday.
Apart form telling me that it would be very thorough, I wasn't told what exactly would be involved.
    Can anyone clue me in?

    Thanks

Depends on they're idea of through but basically it should include the following

Peak flow (blowing into a tube basically)
    Bodyfat
    Flexibility
    General strength
Some form of test on a threadmill that does heart rate but isn't a vo2

Is a VO2 max not part of a standard assessment? I guess not or they probably would have told you to rest the day before and that needles are involved.

    Oh right, thanks Guys.

AT the beginning of January I was given a cardio/weight-loss work out by a friend who happens to be an instructor there.
The workout gave great initial results, but as you would expect my body got used to the work out and my body changes stalled.

Can't wait to go in and see where I am right now fitness wise, and to set and agree on some realistic goals.

Sorry, I wasn't thinking. I tend to get VO2 max and lactate threshold tested at the same time. The VO2 requires a mask which measures O2 in and CO2 out and the needles are used to collect blood samples to determine blood lactate. Also, on mature reflection:D these are maximal tests so probably not suitable for most people because you have to run/cycle/row until you puke and your lungs are on fire.
