Does anybody have any idea as to where Ireland will be playing against Canada? I know it's on in England but can anybody be more specific.

this will do the lads the world of good, can't have been easy getting whacked by the counties. hopefully they can bowl them out soon enough and put on a huge score, i'd nearly put morgan in at 4/5 to let the lads who'll be playing in the remaining friends provident games some batting time.

75/9 at lunch, kevin o'brien with 2 wickets, excellent stuff.

    FUKK SAKE!

Now they need to make quick work of the Canadians in their second innings.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 842 ✭✭✭dereko1969

well there's 2 1/2 days to go, no mad rush. does anyone know what happens if the game is drawn? from memory when we won it last time there was something strange involving whoever had the highest first innings or somesuch. obviously we should win and the lads should go out and try and skittle them again but the weather could yet play a part. great knock from morgan, pity about the lack of support.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,601 ✭✭✭Marshy

Despite falling from 297-3 to 352 all out, they still have a lead of 260 after the first innings. I'm sensing an innings victory here.

The game is decided on some sort of convolouted points system if it ends in a draw. I do believe that Ireland will wrap it up though

48-3 now. Ireland coasting, and could wrap this up with a couple of days to spare!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,693 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    71-4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,693 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    Canada 81-5

    Tea.

Canada while they are not Australia this result and Ireland have to win from here is just what the boys needed. People were worried where the next win would come from afer some horrible games against the counties and well here it is!!:D (should be anyways):D

There was a quote from Trent saying that the first requirement was to get a lead on first innings, as that would give us the trophy in the event of a draw. This leads me to believe that that's the decider, although with Canada currently 112 for 5 needing another 100+ to make us bat again, I'd reckon it's a moot point.

Ireland win by an innings and 115 runs with over 2 days to spare!

Great result. Bit of a confidence booster again. Now time to get ready for cricket training and skip the Champions League final.

Where in Waterford do you play Kensutz?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,200 ✭✭✭kensutz

Lismore, the only one around at the moment.

Very convincing win to say the least. Makes you wonder how canada made the final though. Surely Kenya or scotland would be tougher opposition.

So does that result mean that Ireland are now officially best of the rest in both one and four day games? Is their rankings for this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,800 ✭✭✭county

good for the morale that was.

To be fair Canada did hit 200 0r so against New Zealand and England in the world cup so they are no mugs. I am surprised by the comfort of this victory but well done the lads.
