Hi, just having an issue with Firefox 2.0.0.2 and it using 50% of CPU.

When ever I go onto paddypower.com (the only site I've seen it occur), the pages get sluggish and non-responsive. Checking Task Manager, and it shows its using 50% of CPU. I have the following add-ons installed; Ad-block Plus, British English Dictionary, DOM inspector, Popup ALT Attribute, Talkback and Yahoo Toolbar. I've done a virus and spyware scan.

    Annie eye dears?

Try disabling each one of the extensions until you find the resource hog.
Tools;add-ons; right-click on one extension ;click disable and go to Paddy Powers. It should show up straight away.

Tried that, issue remains. I've tried it on another PC with the same version and plugins, and it doesn't occur.... hmmm.

The issue is on a laptop, 3 GHz P4, 512MB of RAM. It uses the Windows Firewall
The PC is a celeron 2.66 GHz, 512MB of RAM. It uses Sygate firewall.

I'm wondering could Java be an issue? Both have it up to date...?

Try running Firefox in Safe Mode, see if the same thing happens
