It is going to be the first time for me to see the St. Patrick's parade.

It would be more than silly idea to go to the city by car, wouldn't it?

Ok looks like it's Brekkie first. So dose anyone have any suggestions where??? Town is going to be quite hectic. The perade will be getting organised up off Dorset Street/Western Way so maybe up there.

Setup starts at 9:30AM but nobody starts until 10:15AM around Western Way
    Perade starts walking @ 11:35AM
Perade arrives @ parnell Square 11:55AM and the official march begins @ 12.

How about we meet up @ 9 outseide the garden of remembrance?

    Seb.

    Photo Session ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,966 ✭✭✭elven

I dunno... Unless you can get close to the front and have a 70-200mm IS lens I don't see any great shots to be had without the backs of other people's heads in them. I'm just being boring and moany, though, sorry :(

Does anyone have any good examples (not necessarily your own) from previous parades to suggest otherwise?

The 'Luminarium' in georges dock would be worth a visit with the camera, great place to get abstract shots, its open from thurs to mon, I'll head down there tommorow to avoid the crowds over the week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,775 ✭✭✭Sebzy

Elven get there early and catch them all just up from parnell █ . It's always quite up there and you will get some great shots.

With any luck I should have my press pass cleared so no bushing this year.

I'd be interested though I've never been to a boards.ie thing before and I'm quite rusty (and probably illiterate) in the photography department.

I have to work for a bit before the parade, but will be shooting all evening.

    Paddy@CIRL will be along too.

Where would you be meeting up and around what time?

The Ire game is on at 1.30 until about 3.30 (will the parade be over before then? In fact a pub could be a good place to get some reaction shots to the game...... *hint, hint

    :)
