Wanted: Healthy Tips for Eating Out

    Hi,
I'm looking for tips on 'damage limitation' when eating out. I like going out for meals, and I'm not going to stop just because I want to stay in shape, but I would like to moderate the damage as much as possible.

Generally speaking - what are the dos and don'ts of eating out? I go out for a meal with my wife and daughter every couple of weeks. While this is a treat, I still want to keep it as healthy as possible. I'd say tips on this subject would be of use to most people. What's the healthiest type of cuisine? Should you make sure to get a selection of veg and avoid chips, spuds and the like? That sort of thing.

Specifically, I have a match on Saturday afternoon but I am going out to a fancy restaurant the night before. I don't want to eat the wrong things and end up sluggish the next day.

    Any help?
