Blood rush?

    Hi,

It seems that certain exercises cause a massive blood rush to my old head while training - like doing some press ups etc. To be honest it's quite off putting, and I certainly do not feel comfortable while doing the exercises. Anybody else have a problem like this? Can anything be done to prevent it from happening so badly (without completely ditching the exercise)?

    Thanks.

Sorry tim, make sure your breathing when you lift; make sure you are relaxed and only tensing the muscles you are using, i.e. NOT tensing your head (like when you were a kid and used to push all the blood to your head and make your face turn pink :D ). Failing that, see a GP.
But perhaps consider getting someone in the know to have a look at what you are doing. Too many people working out think they are doing the correct thing and simply aren't!!!

actually, could some of the experts say something on this topic. I often find I need to interrupt a session to prevent myself from fainting. I know I have very low blood pressure. I've never had a problem with cardio just lifting. I guess that's logical. The higher HR stuff gets the blood circulating and the weights concentrate it wherever I'm working.

I think I have the opposite hunnymonster, i.e. towards the high blood pressure end.

It's just generally offputting/annoying to be honest. I drink a lot of water daily and my diet is extremely good, yet this still happens for some reason.
