Cheese - good for post exercise?

I cycle or run to work. I cycle about 40mins or run about 15mins (get train most of the way). When I get into the office I have 60grams of cheddar cheese. I do this for the protein.

Is this cheese in any way bad? Is it a good thing?
My goals are general fitness, endurance and speed for 10k runs and short duathlons.

    Can't say.
What I can say is that cheese is high in fat. Tesco do a "healthy living" mature grated cheddar, which tastes good, is about 1/2 the fat of normal cheddar, and far more protein per 100g too.

Cheese late at night gives some deadly nightmarish / freaky dreams.

It should be full of protein, but also fat, as already mentioned. Maybe try tuna instead.

60g of your average chedder will contain 18g fat and 15g of protein, so its not a bad food for protein boosting, although 60% of that fat is saturated fat. I am a staunch supporter of cheese as I think it is quite possibly the greatest tasting food on this planet.

Post Cardio, you want, ideally, to get carbs back into your system. Protein won't do any harm, but unless your using weights, it's probably best to go with carbs. Maybe put the cheese in a wholegrain sandwich.
