nicotine's pretty good, any newsagents will be able to help you out provided you're over 16.

*sigh* im not 1 to point the finger but ehh.... thats not helpful, and also seeing as ure a mod you should be ashamed of ure self for leaving such bad advice.

there are plenty of suppressants out there. however the best 1 is a propper diet, and plenty of water.

I am not a mod of fitness, I am just a regular user. And nicotine does supress appetites, sure the most common method of delivery is pretty unhealthy but there's always lozenges or gum and with a bit of willpower you could kick the habit once you've gotten whatever it is you wanted out of your appetite.

Protein works as a suppressant. Soups also make you feel full for longer.

A fibre-rich diet will keep you fuller for longer. Esp. with the protein and water.

Aye, soup makes you feel full for longer, this goes for any liquid really. Try having a cup of tea or milk with a meal and you will feel full for longer. Also, as said before, water is THE best suppressor. Although im sure you probably started this thread with some sort of supplement in mind........

yeah i was hopin for a pill to be recommended, my appetite is ridiculous, but i suppose such a pill would only really have a plaebo effect, where i think i want to eat less because i think the pills are working, however, instead of throwin away money il just start drinkin a couple bottles of water everyday. itl play hell with my bladder, but sure its good for u! thanx all

If you really want something you can get fibre tablets which you just chew and they fill you up think you can get them in holland and barrett

Just out of curiosity what do eat in a day?

You probably eat too quickly and dont chew enough, try chewing gum for 10 mins before a meal, basically kick starting the saliva glands. Then drink water with your meal (better than after)again this slows down the eating process while speeding up the digestive process especially coupled with a better chewing regime. This should prevent you feeling hungry half an hour after eating provided you have eaten a fairly well balanced meal.
In truth food id the only true appetite supressant, but with sensible eating it should be ebough.

Appetite can be changed. If you change your eating habits, such as (suggested) slowing down while eating, having smaller portions and having a consistent time between meals, your body will adapt. The feeling of 'hunger' only lasts about 3 days before your body adapts to the changes, and you start feeling less hungry after eating.
The trick (when you've eaten and still feel hungry) is to find something to busy yourself with. I can see why someone said smoking (although the cure is worse than the disease, in this case), but have a coffee, leave the table, after half an hour you will feel just as sated from a small meal as from a large meal. That's the critical time.

When you drink with your meal it slows down the digestive process because you are dilluting your stomachs digestive enzymes. Its best to have your drink a half hour before your meal and then leave at least an hour of two for afters. It takes some getting used to but after a few days your mouth starts to produce more saliva so you no longer require water to wash down your food.

...emm the 'dilution of enzymes' should be irrelevant enzymes are proteins in anaqueous solution diluting the solution does not affect the rate of catalysis the limiting factors are amount of substrate (the food) and co-enzymes (vitamins) and the availability of active sites, the physical breakdown of food in the mouth hugely increases the surface area of the food (the salivary amylase starts working straight away) for the digestive system to work.

The adsorbtion of sugars are in no way affected by the volume of water, frequently the opposite (helps sugars that are water soluble to dissolve) take soup for example. The must fundemental aspect of appertite is the regulation of sugars in the blood, regulated by insulin.
