I goddamn love Resident Evil Revelations on 3DS. I borrowed it from a friend of mine, beat it with the wonderful CPP, discovered the incredible depth of the Raid mode, returned his copy to him, purchased it for myself (€20 second hand since even back), beat it on all difficulties including the "beat it without ever healing challenge" and eventually 100% beat the raid mode. I couldn't recommend the game highly enough.

After switching to a N3DSXL a few years ago, I booted up Resi Evil again and playing with the nipple/nub made me so goddamn angry. It's so useless I'm surprised it even shipped. It was fine in monster hunter because MH give you a lot of alternative camera control options, and you're mostly doing little side to side alterations, never up and down.

In Resi though I couldn't do sh1t and I rage quit one of my favourite games. I'm sorely tempted to do the PSP nub alterations people speak about, but I'm worried about invalidating my warranty, especially since the battery on my unit is a little dodgy and I've had to invoke the warranty at least once.

Tl;DR: Resi Revelations is amazing, but don't play it with a N3DS nub if possible

I concur with everyone else, Resident Evil: Revelations is a great game. A bargain at €8. I own it on Wii U. The single player was fantastic and I played it online, in the co-op mode. Finding players online back when it came out was impossible(I could be waiting half an hour) so unless you know someone with the game you may not get to experience it. And Capcom used to rotate the rewards, I don't know if they still do.

Yep, they're still updating the events. If anyone hasn't played it before, pick it up. It's a couple of years since I last played it so I can't remember exactly the online stuff.

Honestly I think I've only used the Nub in Monster Hunter and was just extrapolating - that's a bit of a kick in the nards as I was thinking of going back and finishing this.

Is Raid Mode the speed run thing where you get weird modifiers applied to the enemies? That was superb - when an ankle-height zombie comes charging at light speed down the corridor at you and you can't hit him with the massively over-powered shotgun you picked up on a higher level character's co-op... it's both terrifying and hilarious.

Yeah that's raid mode. With the randomly generated customisable guns. Since hitting monsters in their weakpoint for massive damage was pretty key to survival, I went all-in on "charge boost" abilities that increase bullet damage the longer you hold down the trigger, but mostly just because this let me shoot monster by releasing the trigger, which was a hair faster than pressing AND releasing. Weirdly this made all the difference to my playstyle.

I solo'd the entire thing, including raid level 50 which is basically running through the entire cruise ship, start to finish without any checkpoints and on one life.

Quality mode. Absolutely loved it.
