what time will the last cheap sat begin?

Very last sat will start at 6:30pm but players will need to be there before then to get a place as the main tournament will start at exactly 7:45pm.

    Hi all,

I was really disappointed with the turnout at this event last night. We really spent ages advertising this but it seems to have been a waste of time.

The tournament started at 7:45pm with only 9 players but in the end there were 14......This meant an overlay of €700.

Gholimoli got heads up with my Dad (Allen Mc Lean) and my Dad got the ticket.

We're going to run loads of €20 qualifiers into our €200 tournaments and I was hoping some of the colleges would help out and run a few for us.....

Any other ideas (that don't involve me giving away money) that will generate players -new players- are most welcome. Please post here.

    instead of giving away money

why not tell them about the pole dancers out in the club ??

duh, does this mean they know now ?

You need to advertise a bit more,I no loads of poker players from all across the Northside and nobody heard about the Westbury running a new card club.I only found out about it because a mate of mine plays snooker out there.

The old saying 'build it and they will come' is not true for poker players who are IMO a lazy bunch in the most part anyway.I think you should work on one Tournament and really push this, lets say a 40/50 euro game you don't want it to dear as you have to price the scruffy students in.It may take a few weeks but it should grow.

After that you could start adding in other games, but work on one weekly Tournament,if players are confident thats getting the numbers they will be more inclined to pop in more often.

I live about 200 yards away, used to play snooker there all the time, saw the Westbury Club setellite on Pacific and still didn't cop it.

Couldn't afford much more than the satellite though TBH

thanks for the tip, we are in talks with the Westbury on various suggestions, including a Monday night 25 game with rebuys as a satellite to the thursday game
