Hi everyone. I need a little advice and am hoping someone here will be able to help me. Basically I have a formal in exactly 2 weeks and i wanna lose a little weight before then or precisely inches before then (i realise inches is a pipe dream) so basically i wanna tone up round my waist and stomach area.

I already go to the gym round 4 days a week and do 45-50 mins on the cross trainer, and then work with various resistance weights for about half an hour to give me an overall workout but i want something that will target my middle area. so could someone recommend some particular exercises or even a website- thanks x

and also in order to slim down a little, i have been looking at my diet and its healthy enough but for the next two weeks i am going to cut out all junk and drink loads of water and eat loads of fresh fruit and veg to get rid of any excess water i am carrying, i have been feeling kinda bloated so fingers crossed it works

now i know the above is only a short term fix it is by no means a diet i intend to follow forever but if i do the above do u think i will lose a little

    thanks for reading

Cross trainer is really for whole body work out. u should try some sit ups, this focuses more on abdominal area

yes but with less then 2 weeks to go, it doesn't matter what sort of exercise you actually use as it is generally to short a time frame to be getting results from just exercise. Diet is going to be the main thing that will help the OP lose weight.
Also stick with cardio as oppose to sit ups, as they will do **** all for you at this stage

so instead of doing 45 mins cardio and 30 mins with weights, i should just do 90 mins of cardio??

and my diet looks like this-

    breakfast (8am) porridge

    round 11am banana, seeds

Lunch (1am) soup and a wholemeal roll

    round 3pm orange, apple, yoghurt

Dinner (6pm) chicken stirfry with rice or tuna salad, etc

9pm smoothie with a little yoghurt

i drink nearly 3 litres of water a day

No stick with the weights aswell, It was more a case that memeandmark was suggesting to drop cardio and just do situps which would of gotten you no where.

other then that the diet seems mostly fine, I would maybe add a small bit of protein to your breakfast, so something like a boiled egg, also as it is a case of 2 week weight loss programme I would drop any carbs like rice from your dinner and instead just have veg and some meat with a drizzle of olive oil (use after food is cooked) also personnelly I would drop the smoothie in the evenings instead have some more veg and meat, as smoothies can be quite calorie dense depending on what you put in them so I would generally avoid them late at night

Pilates might suit. It works by strengthening your core (stomach and back muscles). It helps improve your posture as well which means you carry yourself better making you look better.

As the classes generally book up quick you mightn't be able to get a place but perhaps a DVD might be an option.

    Hey Catherine,

Sounds like you are on the right track. Stick with what your doing. However, I would lose the rice and banana's (al the zone diet) Just my two cents. Many people would disagree but it has worked wonders for me. 6.1 kilo's in three weeks. Admitedly I was doing about two and a half hours cardio a day, but still.
