Hi all, new to this forum. Whereas I do a lot of CDP each year for my memberships of profession bodies, I'm a psychotherapist. I haven't done any serious study sine I completed my Reseach MA in Psychoanalysis is 2002. I also have a BA in Psychoanalytic Studies.

I have just benn accepted on to a MSc in Bereavement Studies run by the Irish Hospice Foundation and the Royal College of Surgeons. Its part of my bigger plan for my PhD, however, I plan on more study after the MSc before I start that. However, it's one step at a time, lets get the next two years over first.

I'm 25 and going to be starting my Masters in Library and Information Studies in UCD in September. I graduated with a BA in Psychology and Media in 2007, so i've had a nice break from deadlines and wordcounts.

I was torn between doing the MLIS and doing gender studies in trinity/ucd, but i decided to do the one that qualifies me for a job more directly, and i can always do gender studies stuff in my own time. Really looking forward to the course, and to moving back to Dublin, and really hoping to eventually get a job in Canada -i hear they're quite good for hiring librarians apparently!

Started an MSc in Environmental Science in Trinity last September - it's grand so far anyway.

I've been offered a place on this course in Trinity too, don't know if i can accept it now due to lack of funds thanks to new grant rules, but I really hope I can...

    Hello all

Long time lurker first time poster here. Despite being a member of Boards for years I only found this little corner of the forum towards the end of my masters!

Just finishing a taught Masters in Political and Public Communication in DCU. Hope to maybe do a research MA in Trinity in History next year after a few months away from study (and a few more euros in the pocket to fund it)!

    Hi All :)

Good luck everybody, with your courses this year, or your break from courses.

Finishing up an HR related research masters at UCC and starting a PhD researching leadership psychology/organisational change via an applied research project.

Not entirely sure what I've let myself in for, but can't wait to get started!

    Max :D

If you've never lived in galway, I couldn't recommend it enough...

I suspect you may have a better hunt for info if you start a new thread, as I only wandering in here to see who was saying hello.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14 roxy21

    Hiya,

Just looking for advice and options really if any1 can help. I currently have a honours degree in Social Care and want to do a postgrad in the area of addictions/mental health/family support!!

Problem is i dont know if i want to do counselling or what. Wht other options do I have???

If i was to pursue counselling path would i need to start from scratch and do a counselling course or can this be done as a postgrad?? also could you specify what area you wanted or do u specialise after in an area??

im really interested in working in the areas i listed above so if anyone could help me out and give me a few options to help me out that would be great. Kinda stuck at a crossroads at the moment.

    Thanks roxy21 smile.gif
