Another 'vital' weekend for the top of the table United need the same result as Chelsea and vice versa or the pressure is really on SAF or its all over and it's bye bye Mourinhuo(as the Liverpool fans might sing).
That statement could also be used for the rest of the season until the outcome is settled.

Funny how week after week some United fans come on here predicting either a Chelsea draw or defeat, why don't you just judge games objectively.

Ok, so just wanna talk about the Derby being a Blue. What way, if any do you guys think Everton can sneak a result?

Voltwad the answer is NO! :D It looks like you'll be without Johnson or if he is 'fit' he may well be rusty.

the pre-match thread on RAWK says there's lingering fog. :(

Match on and Liverpool line up as follows

    Reina
    Finnan-Carra-Agger-Riise
    Pennant Alonso Gerrard Bellamy
    Crouch-Kuyt.

Subs - Dudek, Hyypia, Fowler, Gonzalez, Zenden.

    Or it could be

    ----Finnan--Carra--Agger
    Pennant-Gerrard-Alonso-Riise
    Kuyt
    ---Bellamy-Crouch

    Mike.

Gerrard must have been out on the sauce last nite....I've never seen so many misplaced passes from him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

How is that not a foul by Lescott? He was a full yard away from the ball just pushing Pennant? That rule needs serious changing? How can it be obstruction everyhere on the pitch bar your own byline?

Bellamy and Crouch are so annoying, Between them they turn so many chance sinto nothing by pulling at defenders and generally loseing the ball.

As for Crouch and his inability to win a ball in the air against players up to a foot smaller than him without climbing on them.

Jesus christ Pennant needs a kick up the hole. He gives the ball away more than the rest of the team put together. Bloody useless.

Poor performance by the pool but credit to Everton for some very resolute defending.

    Chelsea 1-0 up.

Dissappointing perfomance today by Chelsea after a reasonable start they looked bloody awful in the second half, Charlton would have deserved a point had they managed to equalise. Ballack is starting to lose support of the fans now too, he looks lazy and uninterested and although he made a few decent passes he could have had a lot more influence. Great to see JT back as well.

now if I thought for a second spurs could win tomorrow i'd be feeling more confident about ou ability to win three in a row.

You never know......... i said the same earlier in the season when Chelsea went to Spurs.....and Spurs bet them:eek:

Id love to see a full strength top quality chelsea side play, as at the moment they're being hindered more the helped by the big name signings. At least Sheva works a bit more though, Ballack just looks a waste of space compared to how he can play if he can be arsed. Rather then have him getting in the way in midfield would love to see Lampard and Essien given more room to play their own game with proper wingers on either side of them. Not to write off Makalele or anything, but just from a free flowing attacking point of view.

Often just looks very disjointed when they play. Lampard doesnt seem to be able to put in the performances he used to (remember when he used to run the field against anyway in ranieri's last year!) so i can only assume its because hes in too tight and defined a role.

    Liverpool 0 - 0 Everton ( Hic! )

Well, I have been saying that both Liverpool and Arsenal will likely have more hiccups before then end of the season that Man Utd and Chelsea, and so it has come to pass. Two hic's yesterday, and no more so than Liverpool's tepid draw against Everton.

I didnt see the game and I wasnt even bothered to watch the highlights on RTE's Premiership or BBC's MOTD or any other snippets of highlights, as I had heard enough from the radio coverage, although you cant always go by that I admit.

It would seem to me to have been a tepid draw, with Liverpool huffing and puffing and attempting many half-chances, 26 attempts in all, with Everton relying on defence and break, attempting a mere 6.

So, it was far fom a 50-50 game, but Liverpool need to adapt and break through teams that defend like this. The formation was 4-4-2 but with Kuyt out wide left.

    Reina
    Finnan - Carragher - Agger - Riise
    Pennant - Alonso - Gerrard - Kuyt
    ---- Bellamy --- Crouch

Dare I say that this was a bit of tinkering didnt pay off that well, as Kuyt is better playing in the middle 'third' of the pitch, not out wide per se. Overall, Liverpool just seemed short of ideas.

All would have been well if Stevie G would have been able to produce a brilliant 20 yard stunner goal, but he wasnt.

Liverpool drop 2 pts ..... hic.

I wasn't bothered, 3 points is 3 points, it's not Chelsea's job to entertain John Giles, or give him something to talk about. It's their job to win games, to not concede goals, and in that respect they're back on track. It will take someone better than Charlton to get the best out of Chelsea. Playing teams like Charlton, once Chelsea score the first, they can be reasonably confident of not conceding, thus a second goal isn't overly important.

FFS United have conceded about 6 free kicks on the edge of the box, frustrating game. Rooney got himself a silly booking, there was no need for it. Missing the FA Cup game against Reading.

    Rooney will never learn.

Whatever people say about Chelsea, United are by far the worst offenders when it comes to surrounding the ref and giving lip.

    Thats the stuff.

Even nicer. That's why I believe Saha should never be sold, even if Torres comes in.

As a previous Ronaldo doubter im starting to beleive in his ability more and more. Anyone think United will go far in Champs lge ??? If they had a more defensive centre midfield i think they could win it.

Spurs doing there best to prove my point. Utd shouldnt have bothered putting anyone in goal, wouldnt have made a difference,

They should just play last man back.:)

Agreed, that was pathetic. Same old Keane. Give him 3 chances and he'll get you one goal. Give him one gilt-edged chance in a big game, and he'll fluff it more often than score.

You have to tip your hat to them, the two best keepers today both played for Man United.

LOL. In fairness to that comment, he can't be any worse a goalkeeper than he is a defender.

I love the Sky Sports commentary, Yeh, O'Shea might be good in goal because of that Irish game with the hands. ****ing classic.

What a win though :) 4-0 against Spurs at home really is a fantastic result. Still not sure about the peno, but the Larsson one was definate, so it guess it all evens out. Larsson is just getting so unlucky, after the disallowed one last week, and the peno not given this week.

Ronaldo played a stormer which was nice to see, as he has been a tiny bit off the boil in the last 4 matches (as in, only getting either a goal or an assist a match, not 2 or 3 :P)
Rooney played ok, but is still not looking like his best. He is showing signs of it, let's hope he can continue to build.
Saha looked good returning, with a fantastic pass to Giggs.
All in all, I'm very happy with that result, and after the Wales game, it's been a great day for me :P
