Swimming

    Hi,

I've been swimming fairly regularly for the last few years as a means of keeping up some sort of fitness level for surfing. I haven't really taken it too seriously up until recently, just doing a few 100m and 200m swims every few nights up to around 1000m a night.
Now I've started getting into it a bit more and swam my first 1500m straight yesterday (34 minutes but was taking it easy, I reckon I could do sub-30 minutes with a little bit more training)

I know my technique isn't perfect though, I've only just started breathing on my left side and it's a little shoddy to say the least. Does anyone know if it's possible to get some sort of analysis from an instructor on a one to one basis? Preferably in Cork.

    Thanks!

One of the lifeguards at the mardyke is/was a pretty serious swimmer. He will give you pointers but be warned, he is very honest. If your technique stinks he will tell you. There are also quite a few triathletes there and they're worth talking to.
