Steyr AUG

I am thinking of getting into airsoft and was looking for a Steyr AUG (nothing too expensive). I was looking at this one on gunnerairsoft.com but it fires at 350fps which puts it over the 1Joule limit. How strict are they in enforcing that limit? Is there any leeway or is it once its over it you can't have it.

What kind of quality would these be?

To be honest, they don't look the best at all. The plastic on them looks like that shiny type. Probably break down very quickly. Won't give you a good idea of what airsoft is like.

If you love Augs, do yourself a favour, save up and get a Classic Army one. Like this;

Its amazing. I personally cant stand them. But after seeing the CA one in person i nearly wanted to buy one myself. The build quality is so good that an ex soldier at the barrage meet thought it was real.

I'm not too sure I like spending that much money on something I can't see before I buy, and I may not even use that much.

Well, if you get a clone and then realize "hey, I actually really like airsoft, I'd like to try playing some skirmishes" you'll soon probably wan't a CA Aug anyway.

I think just figure out what you want it for. If it's just shooting in your back garden, then go with the clone. But if not, and you want to play properly, think of it as a good investment. Sure they keep their value anyway. So if you want to sell it on, you'll get most of your money back.

The Jg Aug will be much better then the BE version[The BE has a fixed hop] but their hasnt been to much in the way of reviews for it yet as its very new. I plan to get the Jg Aug myself next . Value for money the clone cant be beat, value for money i said . as for its external quality well have a look see

I have the tm military version and i love it, it looks very realistic and feels solid with a good weight to it,i got it from gunner as well as a 2nd hand, but asked then to downgrade it to 1 joule, it was this one

What are you going to do about the power? Are you gonna hope customs don't check it or are you gonna get it downgraded?

Well he got gunners to downgrade his mp5. So I'm sure he'd get them to do the same with the Aug.

gotta ask him on msn, he was awful busy when he agreed to do mine with about 5 clones just released.It showed though in how long it took for me 2 recieve it . Ya it was 25$ alright that was for a 1 joule spring and metal bushings, at first he told me he'd just sent the spring and stuff for like 10$ i told him i was worried that it most likely wouldnt even get to me if it were over 1 joule [something tells me their wouldnt be any hassle at all but still]

i actually wanted to get the aug of Rsov as Keith their is very very helpful and insanely fast at getting back to ya. but alas he cant do custom work cos his business is like ehobby the stuff sets out from hongkong and he doesnt get his hands on it. So i mght have to go with gunner again unless i can maybe get him to get his mates in hong kong to compress the spring or something. i noticed taht 310fps label as well whoopy but anyone who's metioned the gun says 345-355

your rather fond of the bullpups i see, and i can understand why tbh. im realy looking forward to geting this Aug and when airsoft first became legal i wouldnt ahve even tought about considering one

I always hated bullpups. But after using mine in a game, their plus points like short length etc really do help out. I can imagine climbing through those trees and gorse is going to be extremely hard when I get a FAL.

ya still dreaiming about that FAL? the lenght aint gonna be an advantage for me cos i think it looks to werid with an extremely long scope on it and a fairly short lookin outer barrel, im going get a silencer or maybe extend the barrel to look like the phantom one, itl be longet one way or another

Ah yes, the FAL will be mine sometime this summer. I've gone with that over the type 89 simply because it takes a large battery. The 89 takes a small one. I could imagine that being quite annoying.

I saw someone make a great looking BIG silencer for a Famas with the foam/plastic from a nunchuck. Would love to try that myself.

ive got 2 swords a pair of curved daggers with dragon designed handles that cost me **** all in a tunisian market and look class. ive a bo-staff and other smaller tunisian dagger, one class pair of nunchucks with the chain around 6 inches long and the handles 8 inches long so it swings much faster then the norm ,tonfas and 2 bokken swords and throwing knives and thats most of it i think. a mace though thats something id like to see

i had one of those yari staffs. you know the staffs with the big F**k Off blade on the end of it. it got thrown out in a skip by "accident" but i blame my mother for being up tight.

rofl actually one thing i noticed is the tunisian airport guards were armed with steyr aug's [lots of em] which wasnt the most pleasent site when i was thinking of my daggers , i dont think they were Tm or Jg versions either :eek:

ya lol was the first thing i remember seeing when i got of the bus, they wer even spread out near enough to the markets i was trying to figure out what pistol they were armed with but it was impossible to tell realy
