How to find information on a vessel?

I'm trying to find information on a vessel that once sailed the seas as a friend has bought a wheel (don't know if it's the proper term) from a ship/boat called the "Inger Christina" age and area of operation aren't know any one any insight how to dig up some info. Many Thanks

You can try http://www.world-register.org/ships.htm but I cant see your ship ( presuming she was a ship ) registered there possibly if it was a yacht/ship less than 50 GRT then it would not be on the international shipping register .

A good sorce of shipping info is always Lloyds of London , but you wil have to prob pay
