For a 25 year old around 12% body fat is healthy.

For a serious soccer player, you are looking at between 9 - 12% then you have the Wayne Rooney god like players with their 13-15% bodyfat i reckon.

I don't know where you're getting that from - Wayne Rooney has one of the lowest bf% at Man Utd.

Rooney one of the lowest body fat %'s at United? Where'd you hear this?

I have no source to back it up, however I do remember hearing it on TV - I was myself surprised. The thing is, it would not be possible for him to play the style of football that he does and compete if he were in any way less physically sound than other players. And if you see him topless, there is very little fat on him - it's all down to his body and head shape.

I have seen him topless, certainly doesn't look like he has a bf below 10%.

Most premiership players aim for 9 - 12% bodyfat as cheesedude says (which I heard off of Will Heffernan who trains alot of them). Regarding water %, I would say: fully hydrated. Regarding muscle, I think someone mentioned in another thread recently that most 6' premiership soccer players are between 11 - 13st.

Anyway, if you're training for a sport then why not set definite performance based goals?
